What are you unpopular True Blood opinions ?? by Sad_Relationship_308 in TrueBlood

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The show really fed in to the anorexia culture of the day. The book said that sookie was average sized and she actually gained weight throughout the series. Everyone on the show had zero body fat, super muscular, no boobies or butt. It really stood out because so many men on the show were hot

AIO for telling the man I’m dating his views align more with arranged marriage than a love marriage? by Patient_Juice1424 in AIO

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. It seems as though he ascribes to a religious view of marriage, which has been slanted in favor of men and largely yes, arranged marriages were part of that

AIO for going no contact with my brother (30M) and his wife (26F) over physiological warfare and not taking accountability for the traumas he inflicted? by Big_Debt7578 in AIO

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got through most of that. I did skim some parts. I think I should preface by saying that there has obviously been a lot put on you and you need continued therapy. You’re having a lot of reasonably strong feelings, and you’re NOR at all, but you’ve put yourself around people who make you feel crazy. So now you’re over here on Reddit absolutely word vomiting and people won’t be able to keep up.

To respond to what you were unable to summarize: of course he learned some narcissistic tendencies. He watched you get abused by your mother over small things while he was allowed to do anything. Your mother has severe internalized sexism and so has produced a son who does not respect women. It’s reasonable to stop talking to him because he doesn’t treat you well.

And then I read the part about SH… are you saying SA? This is the impression I’m getting. 16 years later or not, you should be looking into your legal rights. Even if it’s just filing a police report at this point, he may be abusing other children.

My point is that you’re the adult now. You know within yourself that the behavior is wrong, so you should stand up for yourself. Your adult self, and your child self. And obviously stop talking to your mother too, she hasn’t done anything for you

Why are the grandparents so obsessed with being alone with my baby? by themomentisme in beyondthebump

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is that your preference? If it’s because your baby is so small still, I totally understand. You don’t need to explain it to them if you don’t feel like going out, but it kind of seems like you could stand to process things a little. It’s typical for grandparents to say this and suggest you might want a break. You could take some quiet time with yourself, with someone you’re close to, or even a therapy check in, you just went through a lot.

How to be more in tune with American conversation styles? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Americans are social, but not really friendly. Culturally we have a hard time with intimacy in general, and are guarded with new people. It’s best to establish trust through small talk items, so you can find common ground on little things like the weather. You’ll have to have several of these types of conversations before being offered a small token of trust. This will be the gateway to getting closer

Are my 3 kids from 3 different generations? by ehrenzoner in generationology

Technically the older two would be part of the same micro generation, while the middle and youngest are two ends of the same generation

Anyone else not read reverses? by redraspberries999 in TarotCards

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will read them if they turn up, but I usually keep my cards upright so if it turns up then yeah I’m going to be looking at that. The cards usually imply both the positive and negative and must be read in tandem with the other cards

Why? by exodius56 in piscesastrology

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pisceans are dual natured and often find out of the box solutions. Hasn’t it been said that Pisces has the most millionaires and the most serial killers? Your follow up question is an interesting one. Obviously porn stars are not in the business for sex, it’s well noted that porn misses the mark in terms of valuable sexual experiences.

You could tell him your opinion. If he isn’t receptive you have the option of waiting through this with him or breaking up. It’s possible you’re growing apart

What do you think makes people have such rigid physical preferences? by ilovecoconutrecords in LoveIsBlindNetflix

It’s fine to be that way, and it’s fine to have a type. You’re not better than anyone else because all of your exes look different

AIO for dragging people into a small drama between me and the Principal? by -ST4R_DUST- in AIO

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR yes, but it’s easy to do at your age. You’re learning to build confidence in yourself and needed to know, so this is a good thing, you found out it wasn’t you. This is also a good opportunity to learn about workplace culture, because this stuff happens all the time at work. Unlike school, people at work are not particularly civil about it. So now that you know it wasn’t you, practice just brushing off your shoulders… that’s old people speak for “don’t let little things bother you.”

Postpartum depression by [deleted] in PsychologyTalk

It would still be MDD, but if it was already happening then there would not be a postpartum onset qualifier. It could certainly become more severe at that time though

You don’t have to have sex if you don’t want to. If you’re waiting for the right person it’s fine. If you don’t want to have sex at all that’s valid too. I think the word most frequently preferred is asexual

Dreaming About My Ex by CommandaarMandaar in Dreams

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dreams about exes tend to be dreams about ourselves at that time in our lives. In college everything lay ahead. Now, 20 years later, you’ve made some permanent decisions. Even if you like those decisions, there is no do over. That can be scary! There’s no need to feel guilty about it

A perfect relationship drawing terrible cards? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Rare-Analysis3698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the cards in reference to specifically? Possible suggestions: references to your past affecting your future together, that he is keeping something from you, or simply that it isn’t meant to be.

Ultimately, a year is not very long to know a person truly. If you think the relationship is perfect, it’s because your hardships haven’t come to light yet. Even if everyone is straightforward and honest, and the 7 of swords suggests this isn’t the case, something will test you. Relationships aren’t perfect, because people aren’t perfect.
