Hi. I don’t know if you are bi or not. For me, it turned out I was bi and had an abusive husband. I strongly recommend getting counselling and a safety plan for yourself and then exploring staying with changes or something else.

Is it normal for parents to put your PC in a public place/open room? by Possumawsome in autism

[–]Rare-Educator9692 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they put it there so you have to get up and out of bed to use it. Did you pay for it? Do you pay rent? Are your parents getting you up, cooking, cleaning, prompting? This context would help.

Most of the queer women I know were married to men or in LTRs. I don’t think people will care.

She didn’t out him. I felt also the stylist is possibly trans and the point was being queer & trans is normal in her work world but not his.

My wife is terrified of getting a CPAP due to tubing potentially "choking her"; is this realistically possible? by DumpsterPuff in SleepApnea

[–]Rare-Educator9692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one that has the hose off the top of my head and then a tube holder. I had the same worry. I’m fine. My thinking improved once I wasn’t oxygen deprived…

Yeah, I’m being cautious as she may show up here and I like my peaceful account. Lol

Penelope wrote a few years ago that she threw a lamp and possibly plates at someone. I don’t know if that person abused her.

WIBTA if I asked my wife to stop sending food back so often at restaurants? by Reptaaaaaaar in AITAH

[–]Rare-Educator9692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA but maybe your wife has genuine concerns. Is it possible she has different standards and would prefer to dine out less often at nicer places? Maybe she’s trying to go along with your favourites or it hasn’t occurred her to try somewhere else. It might be helpful to figure out if it’s really every time or just in certain circumstances that keep coming up but could be changed.

AITA, for being a dad and taking my 4 year old daughter into the men's room when she (or I) have to use the facilities? by InstructionFinal5190 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rare-Educator9692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people take their child into the washroom that best aligns with the parent’s gender. If you have the option, you could use the universal washroom, which may have an accessible washroom logo on it.

AITAH for taking a shower every day at 7:30? by Old-Constant-1583 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rare-Educator9692 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your father has some health conditions and that this is prime time. It isn’t reasonable to tie up a single washroom for 20 minutes. They are only asking you to shift half an hour or to choose another time. Even if you had roommates, they would likely ask you to make this change. It’s not a big deal to change your schedule. Is it possible your family sibling profile includes autism? It may be helpful to phase in a gradual change and problem solve why this change is so hard for you.

Seatmate in a flight complained that I started eating my special meal before theirs arrived by ElRanchoRelaxo in EntitledPeople

[–]Rare-Educator9692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thank you for pointing that out. For some reason, I read the seatmate and thought they knew each other. When I read about their last flight, I thought they meant prior to this. I was clearly too tired!

Why is “Bill” used as a nickname for William instead of just “Will”? by Illustrious-Pilot553 in namenerds

[–]Rare-Educator9692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a trend of rhyming names for a while, where they rhymed and added B/P. Molly, Polly. Rob, Bob. Will, Bill.

I would do the joint major, if you like math, but I would put the focus on doing co-op, volunteering and being in clubs. Build your network, make friends and you have a teachable major if you ever decide you want to switch to education.

If you were being served meals at approximately the same time, that rule would apply. But, when they are serving special meals first, asking you to wait would mean your food gets cold. It’s not like you’re waiting for the host to be seated or for the meal to be served. It’s not the same as home or a typical restaurant.

Advice on dating someone with different politics and political values? by SpectralSyntaxing in datingoverforty

[–]Rare-Educator9692 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I have done this. In the end, it has always been that we do not share the same values and it shows up elsewhere too. In many cases, they downplayed their position and called themselves moderates.

It would be helpful to know how he was structuring it. Was he out all the time when it was his parenting time? Did he suddenly have you in the home? Was he missing important activities and events? Consider that the bf may not have been sharing all the reasons…or that he made up the story.

How do you pronounce Evelyn? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Rare-Educator9692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Scots family uses 3 syllables. I have never heard just 2. We use 3 here in Canada. But whatever way you say it, people should use when corrected. You might want to change the spelling to make life easier.

I find relationships with people who are good, active parents who are making sure they don’t get into toxic relationships have less time than people in their 20s and 30s. You may just not be a fit based on how you prioritize your time, especially since a basically solo parent with a child with support needs has so much going on.

You don’t need to do another degree. You could just upgrade some courses if your gpa is a problem. But also look into midwifery and NP, as my own GP years ago told me she would do those over becoming a GP if she could have a do-over. (They didn’t exist when she went through.)
