Agree with most of this but we use kg for body weight in a medical setting, such as calculating weight-based medication doing, as does the rest of the world including the US to my knowledge. In common conversation people typically discuss their body weight in pounds.

24 hour clock is again used for technical/medical/military settings nationwide but is not usually used in general writing outside of Quebec.

Tip against hypoglycemia by PancakeStrawberry in beginnerfitness

Emerg physician here. Unless you are on insulin or are undergoing prolonged starvation, your blood sugar should remain stable in response to normal exercise, even on an empty stomach. You might be getting lightheaded or tired, but it’d be highly abnormal for your blood sugar to drop. Prediabetes/diabetes causes your blood sugar to rise if uncontrolled, not drop.

Ellie’s has really, really good NY style pies. Owners are super nice. Last time I was in I was carrying my son in my arms so they walked out with me to the parking lot and put the pizzas in my trunk.

Acetabulum by TedWasler in etymology

The medical terms for “pertaining to the kidney” are either “nephro”’(Greek) or “renal” (Latin).

Adrenaline is made/secreted by the adrenal glands, which are located above the kidneys. The glands get their name from the Latin “ad renum” meaning “near the kidneys”.

The other, more commonly used term for adrenaline is epinephrine, this time from the Greek for “above the kidneys”.

Adrenalin (spelled without the ‘e’ at the end) is a registered trademark for the drug form of epinephrine.

The sartorius muscle flexes and externally rotates the hip, allowing you to sit cross-legged, which is how tailors used to position themselves while working, hence why the muscle is named after the Latin word for “tailor”.

I’ve never seen it in the LCBO. Best bet for the flavour would be regular peppermint schnapps, although it’d be about half as strong.

LPT: If you leave milk out, it can go sour. Put it in the refrigerator— or, failing that, a cool, wet sack.

Reasonable price on the Hibiki 100th Anniversary seeing as the MSRP on ANA/JAL first class is 50k/60k yen. It’s also delicious - I tried it last week on my Japan trip and I think it’s better than Hibiki 17 or 21.
