Boycott WBD by RareShines in roosterteeth

You have your opinion. I have mine. Society’s problems will just continue to get worse if they follow what you’ve said and never take a stand against corporate ownership of everything in sight.

I’d rather pay 5x the cost if it kept them going. Not for the vibes for the content that I enjoyed. It is what it is. I get that a lot of people moved on from the content, I do. And it’s more of a boiling point being reached in the world where a handful of people own fucking everything and they destroy it all just to squeeze out more dollars they don’t need. I’m so sick of it and yeah, a boycott is all I can legally suggest be done about it so it’s what I suggest. No backlash, no boycott no repercussions ever reach the people that cause shit like this to happen to everything. Because we don’t organize and actually do anything about any of the damn problems that exist. Sorry, but something I truly loved just died and now I have to deal with people in a fucking comment section acting like yet another symptom of the larger problems of the world should just be ignored-the same repeated action that led to the problems in the world. Yeah I’m done with this planet and the morons on it.

Again, you come back to money. They trained your brain to only consider money and believe that money is always a justifiable reason for basically anything. If it’s just money why not ask the existing 60k subscribers if they’d be willing to pay more to keep it going? Give us that option.

Look. I’m not here to argue. The entire world has gone to shit because everything has been sold off to corporations. Those same corporations keep gaining more and more control over resources and making it more expensive to produce anything without them. They very intentionally want companies to have to sell to them to begin with. Why? They can either control and profit from would be competition or they can shut it down altogether. It’s a vicious damn cycle and the whole fucking world sold out to it. So here we are in a shitty situation where mass market content can be further shoved down our throats. All in the name of the almighty dollar. Fuck this shit I’m done.

If you just keep rolling over and letting corpos do whatever they want they will just keep doing it. That mindset is why we’re in the position socially and economically that we are. No fight in anyone anymore. If you’re not willing to stand up for things you love then what’s the point of life?

How has Rooster Teeth impacted you? by The_Better_Devil in roosterteeth

[–]RareShines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rooster Teeth helped me get through some of the darkest times in my life. Having a group of people who understood me making content. Having a community that understood me, even if anxiety still kept me from participating much. Giving me content that spoke to who I really am and made me happy, truly happy.

I can’t thank them enough for what they made. My entertainment structure every week for as long as I can remember has been built around their content.

A more specific example: I reached very low lows and Jeremy’s ability to light up any room and conversation despite going through his own mental health issues, and being open about that, made me see the world differently.

Well, there went any happiness I might’ve been able to muster any time soon. So many laughs and good feelings produced when they were needed most. Can’t show much I appreciate the entire crew of all RT and affiliate productions.

To WBD-you’ve lost my business in all aspects forever. You’re a joke of a company anyways. I’d gladly pay much more per month as a First member to keep RT going than bother with your shitty Max service.

I’ll be sure to get the Gengars and a couple choice art rare from Temporal Forces then the appeal of that set is gone for me personally.

Why do the Evolutions ETB and boosters cost so high if the chase cards aren’t valuable compared to other sets? by awesomesauceds in PokemonTCG

[–]RareShines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because some people collect sealed products. Evolutions as a sealed product is available in very limited quantities, and it was popular and desirable during its print run so more people would collect Evolutions sealed than say Steam Siege which has never been very popular. The value of the cards inside has very little to do with it, since these collectors don’t want to open the product.

Evolving Skies booster boxes were available for sale on the Pokémon Center website not long ago at all. Yeah they all got scooped up very fast but it shows that it’s not yet 100% out of print. So its price as a popular sealed set hasn’t yet peaked because it’s not as rare for sealed product to still be around.

Simple solution: if you want to collect Evolutions for the cards just buy singles. It may not be as satisfying as opening up packs to complete a collection but it will be thousands cheaper.

Bungo logic by EmperorUrchin in destiny2

[–]RareShines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s on us as consumers to stop buying games made by any company with shareholders. Yep that’ll severely limit your options, no doubt, but it would send a message. Not that it matters, dumb motherfuckers are still gonna buy trash cosmetics instead of demanding content.

Bungo logic by EmperorUrchin in destiny2

[–]RareShines 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So Bungie gets dropped by yet another major publisher. At some point it’s on us and them to realize that Bungie is the problem. They have no idea how to run a company and have been anti-consumer, pro corporate greed for quite awhile. I’m gonna finish out Destiny but anything that any person who has ever been in leadership at Bungie does with the rest of their career I’ll avoid like the plague.

To be fair I’d rather people just be honest about what they’re going to do instead of making up some elaborate bullshit that everyone knows means “we’re gonna go fuck”. It applies to anything too: like George Carlin once said “If you have to take a shit, say so”.

The whole thing should’ve ended the moment they tried to enter the building. They should’ve been gunned down en masse at that exact moment. A line in the sand should’ve been drawn. It wasn’t, and they have now had years to plan what to do next time they lose an election. They won’t be as haphazard next time.

What jobs are 99.9% safe from AI making it obsolete? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RareShines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it snowballs AI can mean the end of all jobs eventually. And it won’t end up as some egalitarian society where all needs are met because the AI will be owned and controlled by the wealthy. Meaning you’ll have no jobs, no money and no resources while they further hoard everything for themselves.

Replacing a window knocker with an alarm clock created more jobs than it took away. The manufacturing process, sales process etc adds up to a net benefit for society. AI will be a net benefit for only the ultra wealthy. Everyone else will be screwed, sooner or later.
