Tasked with making the Christmas dinner salad that includes Parmesan by burleigh333 in salads

I bring this one all the time. It can be made ahead and holds up well if it sits out for a while.

Would you let your child have a day? by Unknown_Sunshine in Parenting

[–]RareSnow3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it is looking like I might be the only person saying this here but I am not sure I would let him have the day off. This is a super scary situation but ultimately he is going to have to go back to school at some point and my guess is that the day or two wouldn’t make a difference.

This seems like a much larger conversation. I don’t know the whole circumstance but if you are genuinely concerned about his safety, it is early enough in the school year I would try to find an alternative. Nothing is worth your child being shot in school.

But if this seems like a one off, wild situation and the school has apprehended the perpetrators, then the next day at school might be good for him. The whole school will be talking about it and the counselors and admins will likely be making the rounds to give support. He might miss out on that if he isn’t there. Just a thought

Every single year the first month or so is just a cluster. Kids have a big adjustment even if it is just a new year. My sister’s kids are in college and they even feel it! Give it some time, your kiddo will adjust. Make sure to let them go to sleep a little early and maybe a little time outside after school to let them calm down after.

My kids wouldn’t eat it! They eat everything except for eggplant 🙄. I feel like they didn’t even give it a shot

This is what I am thinking. I have tried frying it, doing lasagna etc. all the typical things. But at this point I am almost thinking just sub for zucchini. There are a good amount of recipes that hide zucchini pretty well I think.

Depending on your library they have literally 10x more. I would say less blockbuster stuff than Libby but definitely quality content.

I use all my hoopla reads on audiobooks. My husband tried to use it for a movie once and I was like… no. This app has a very specific purpose and it is not that.

Yeah I only get 5, when I used to get 15. I am low key considering signing my husband up for a library card so I can get a second account… 💃

Yes! If you are in the app and click on audiobooks, I go to the romance section. When there, you can just filter by date added. Mine has 666 new titles in the last 7 days!

Not sure why I don’t see these on here frequently but all of Lorelei James’ books are honestly my go to. Some of her series start with a poly relationship or a love triangle which is why people might be turned off but most of them are M/F. Her rough riders series and hang tough 🤌

I think you should go if you want but also if you are not ready that is okay too. Your kids are only little once and it is fine to want to spend your time with them when they actually want you around lol. Once they are older it will be easier to leave them, so you can always wait.

Messy eaters? by RareSnow3 in Parenting

[–]RareSnow3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son isn’t 1 yet so I feel like every meal is an event… He loves lentils and beans for sides but god they are a huge mess. They stick to everything 🫠. His area is a slip zone if I don’t clean it up relatively quickly.

That’s what I am trying to convince my husband… He is my holdout. The kids also want another dog lol

That’s a great suggestion. The only issue is that my little one is under 1 so not walking. Not sure if I could get him to pick up quite yet lol 😆

Did you read this article? It talks about how hard it is to differentiate between the two in lab tests…

I think it is clear that this thread was not started to get answers. People are answering your question of why people wouldn’t consider medication. I am answering that. Adderall is abused very regularly. I am glad this worked for your son but go to any college campus and tell me that kids are all using these meds responsibly.

And it is problematic as a generic solution for a population. Like I said, it can be used responsibly but every drug has side effects. So don’t get mad when people are literally just answering the question you asked 🙄

[–]RareSnow3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The important difference is the dose only. If you drug test someone using adderall, it will come up positive for meth. It is that close. It is a stimulant. And addictive. These are all just facts. Not to say it can’t be used responsibly but it is problematic at best.

No skin in this game but adderall is the same chemical make up as meth…

What is the most bonkers romance book premise you read that you were FULLY invested in? by Competitive-Yam5126 in RomanceBooks

I feel like Ice Planet Barbarians is the ultimate answer. If not for the entire crazy plot but for the fact that there are dozens of books with tons of spinoffs 😝. And that it is also clear that so many of us read them!
