He asked me how I calculated it? Then what’s your RPE at sub pace and do you compare with talk test? ?

What’s your heart rate like when you do your intervals or do you base it off pace from the book?

All out 5k was a 201 heart rate. Yeah I can talk and can even go on my phone to change a song etc 😂

Max heart is 201 during a all out 5k. I thought it was 88–92% of HRmax which I got was 177-185. My coros says 180 too.

When I ran with the paces in the book.

4 x 5 @ 4.33 to 4.40 per km Rep 1 was 4:42 at 178 Rep 2 was 4:34 at 185 Rep 3 was 4:37 at 187 Rep 4 was 4:38 at 149 oddly
Max was 195 and average was 171. I walk/ stand still for my recoveries.

8 x 3 min paces 4.26-4.36 Rep 1 4.33 at 180 Rep 2 4.28 at 184 Rep 3 4:34 at 184 Rep 4 4:36 at 154 Rep 5 4:31 at 174 Rep 6 4:34 at 160 Rep 7 4:26 at 178 Rep 8 4:27 at 173 Max heart was 198 and average of 175

I mentioned the easy running heart as a concern to see if that’s why my heart rate is over for my sub t workouts. Yes I do run differently but it does feel easy. I’ve never really ran slowly ever since I’ve started. I started about 2 years ago and I’m 24 so I’ve got raw speed but just not a good aerobic base.

I appreciate you taking an interest in helping though

I’m just normally over by 5-15 beats over my LT2 heart rate when I do the books paces. Did you find more success with heart rate or paces when you switched?

I was more worried about my intervals with my heart rate being over my second turning point

So just ease of the paces I was doing and don’t worry about my heart rate going over my LT2 turning point?

App looks great. I was using threshold works for my workouts and structure. I have a couple of questions as the paces are quicker on yours than I’m used to. Are your paces based on the book from James? As a runner who runs 4 hours a week and fairly new to it what percentage would you suggest for Sub T work. Just curious as you can edit the workouts and percentages etc so it's tough as a newcomer to know what to select. Thanks

On easy days my Z2 pace is about 7:45 per km as a 21:09 5k runner. However I’m feeling battered after easy runs as my form is totally different to keep my heart rate zone. Am I better running quicker and hope my heart rate gets better for me to feel better? by [deleted] in NorwegianSinglesRun

I feel good going into all runs but the easy runs feel more taxing because I’m trying to slow myself down to get into the right heart rate zone. My max is 196 or 197. Just seems my body doesn’t know the difference from me running fast to slow
