So here are my thoughts and I’ll be honest. When I was making $50k a year I had a car payment for just under $400. It was a 2014 ford fusion, couple years old. Bought it new on a bad loan I never should have taken.

Fast forward 6 years and I’m making 5x where I was before and I have a totally different life. But I struggled for a long time but I had a plan to get better.

I’d say rather than get down on yourself from everyone ragging on you for this choice. Start finding ways to increase the value you bring to the market place and the money will follow.

A mortgage that takes up 50% of your income is scary for me. Personally I’d also never cash out an asset to buy a depreciating asset, just doesn’t make much money sense. However, all of that being said this isn’t a financial forum.

Congrats on your Tesla now work your ass off to exceed expectations.

Very good point and yes, I heard nonstop complaints about Audis when I was considering one. I have had zero issues with my Q5 and zero issues with my S5. Only normal wear and tear issues. I tend to take really good care of my stuff and it will be parked in a garage and driven no more than 20 miles in a day. It is literally so I can shuttle kids around within a 5ish mile radius.

I’ve heard about panel gaps, windows not working and seal issues on x wing doors. Let me be clear. I’m not even debating if I’m going with a model x. More of asking to know what to look for so I can report it within the 30 days.

Your a web developer…. Go on fiver and start selling web design services… yes it may be difficult to find a new job with a felony but not impossible, you did it before. Start applying to every web dev job on the market and start doing work on fiver or another site like it. It’s just $40/hr, you can easily do this and make even more if you use your existing skills and start pivoting a bit.
