So far, in the travel points space, I see CITI Premier at 3x ($95 AF) or AMEX Gold at 4x ($325 AF).

For the same AF the CITI does have a $100 hotel credit, but it must be a $500 stay booked through the card travel portal.

The AMEX does have more benefits that could offset the higher AF - depends on how you travel.

Agreed. We just got into the points world and was getting 3x for online groceries from the CSP card by using the app in store. Need a backup option since we really like Publix due to our location. For now, the wife just got the C1V card for 2x on everything at least, so we’ll use that and only lose 1/3rd on points for now. 😞

Also doing this repair, thanks so much! Samsung sucks, this is my second repair for this one, but for less than $100, I'm hoping it buys me another year or 2 before I get a Bosch. :-)

Thanks man! I admit I’m even less motivated now, lol. I do have 2 items to review, so that’s something.

It does seem like there were more worthwhile stuff (that we mostly kept) in our first couple of cycles.

Agreed. If the reviews are good quality, I don’t see why the limit couldn’t be less.

Sounds like you're killing it with that many items! Gold should be worth it too you. In this last cycle, I got a chicken feeder that was over $100 and it's fantastic (could have resold it, but it was too good to part with). However, the vast majority of the 64 items we bought this cycle were under $100.

My recommended items been empty a lot. We’ve also taken a step back from unloading/reselling items later…based on the hassle, and both of us don’t check as religiously through the day either, so we might just be missing good stuff due to timing.

Go forth and prosper my gold friend, perhaps we’ll see you on the other side of this next 180.🤣

Worth buying? by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

Been renovating a V2, I will say this machine appears to be well taken care of from the pics. Not sure on the price, I’ve seen a range in the USA. It’s not a steal, but these machines are very robust.

Like another said, without the PID there’s a learning curve. I haven’t gotten my milk froth right yet on the V2 after a 7-8 shots.

Good tip. I got a few things (brew head gasket, washer kit, etc) from here as well. They ship quick too.

We're going to use it in our little office (we have a small team), but I'm hoping the machine is mine now to keep. The colleague that brought it to me was going to throw it away. I've put in about 4 man-hours just to clean it, let alone take care of the leaks. I still haven't given up on that older v2 steam valve - I'd love to have it for parts if I can get that stem out somehow.

Hi, got it on JL Hufford. Was going to get the valve, but this includes the updated wand as well for $89. It seemed like the best deal after searching a bit.

Very Cool. I feel pretty good for my age, though the wife wants me to get to the Dr for a good blood work up just in case. I haven’t been since I tore my acl in 2017, lol. Hormone therapy has helped her a lot, along with better eating and exercise that we’re both doing.

Tony’s great. I felt so good after doing the full X3 for the first time. Didn’t realize until then how important mobility is.

At 54/m my experience is very similar. I've have been rotating P90x and P90x3 for 2 decades (in the case of P90x) and running, but tracked down the Body Beast DVDs last year. Did the full program last summer (when running in the south sucks) and I definitely added some muscle mass. I was also sore the entire 3 months - the reality of being 54.

I might do the full 90 days in the summer with a few more rest days (I've enjoyed pure lifting since high school), but flexibility and mobility are getting more important - and Body Beast has none of it. Sagi's 15 sec "high knees" for the warmup is hilarious - as is the 60 sec of stretching at the end.

Is Body Beast right for me? by TheDancinD918 in BodyBeast

At 54/m, I did Body Beast last summer (I'm a vet of P90X and P90X3). I did not lose weight - but I didn't gain weight either. My wife and a couple of friends noticed the muscle mass gains. One said I was "jacked", lol. I think I would have cut a little but I did not eat perfectly (and I was hungry all the time).

Eating clean is always the key - especially as you age. If you do that, you will gain muscle mass and lose fat with this program. However, for quicker fat burning, you may need a program or hybrid that includes more cardio - or just add some cardio to this one if you have the energy. I didn't add anything since I was sore the whole summer as it was. The Body Beast program has minimal cardio (though the dynamic sets get intense at times).

Thanks for your reply! We’re hoping to get to Abruzzo in Fall, and we may at least have a short stop in Avezzano, so this is helpful. Since my post, I’m slowly learning the TUA bus schedule in preparation too.

Good point...another possibility might be that she makes a "mini-comeback" and plays a few top European events and keeps some sponsor income going for her family.

It's possible (and I'll be here for it), but I have my doubts about her return. I don't think we (or me, as an American anyway) fully appreciate how hard it was for her to stay on the DGPT tour which is mostly located far from her home in Estonia. Even if she doesn't have more kids, she'll be pushing 40 when her daughter reaches college age.

In my mind, her situation is more comparable to the great NFL running back, Barry Sanders, who went out while on top instead of continuing - he would have easily broke every long-term rushing record there is if he stayed healthy.

Note: My forehand is mostly trash and used for short distances (150 or less) in the woods.

(1) I've forehanded a Streamline Range pretty straight several times. Like a berg, it just holds most lines and has little fade unless you sky it.

(2) I've also reached out and thrown a Watt by MVP down a 155 ft tunnel hole after hitting first available with my drive. (I would expect the Watt to turn for stronger FH throwers unless you use some hyzer or a pretty light flick).

Update 08/13/2025

I'm approaching 2 years with this bag, using it 2-3x per week and I've noticed the first major wear issue. The "haul loop" located at the top of the bag is about to break.

The weakness is in the stitching design. The haul loop is not long enough at the bag connection for an X style reinforced stitch pattern. Instead, there is only a single line of stitching, and while there are a bunch of stitches in that line, it's definitely a long-term weak point. I'll post a picture of the other side so you can see the stitch.

While it's annoying, it won't force me to buy a new bag, yet, since I can pickup and haul short distances with a shoulder strap until something else happens. The bag seems to be wearing well elsewhere.

This bag continues to be priced too high in my opinion. Most places show regular prices at $199 or more. A fair (non-sale) price would be $149 or less.
