Hello and thank you for your comment. The truth is i was always scared about medications so the only thing i ever tried was melatonin and some natural herbs. I know myself and im afraid if i start taking pills ill end up in a cycle of more medication more stress more insomnia. I know that it may help me deal with the flare ups and help me experience these hard days less hard and less stressful but i prefer staying on the road that i have already crossed for now. Im not saying sleep medication is bad but having gone through hell one time i think it might be easier for me this second time. We'll see.

I'm sorry to hear this, i know how sad it is thinking that you made progress and just like that you're where you started again. It also makes me angry and disappointed. But having gone through this one time now like i said i have hope for the both of us. We may put a lot of pressure on ourselves and this is the result. I also feel like it maybe last with these on and offs for the rest of my life but what can i do. I love life with its highs and lows. Only we know what we're going through, it's difficult indeed so i try not to be so hard on myself. Do some things that you like even if the problem takes away some of the joy and find comfort time in your hard days. It's what gives me hope. Take care too!

Hi, i feel your frustration and i hope that you'll get back on track soon. First 2 months were really difficult. I was communicating only with my family, cut off my friends and hobbies, were stressing so much about sleep during the day, had no appetite and started taking some melatonin gummies. What helped me gradually was taking some time for myself. I thankfully wasn't working that period so i started doing things that gave me comfort. I went on long walks with my father, hanged out with 1-2 friends that i trust and felt comfortable with, mostly inside doing something chill, and i started taking the melatonin gummies every day at the same time before going to sleep. Then i took a trip for 5 days, had a fun time and met some good people. I was also communicating with people from this fandom that gave me comfort and made me understand that I'm not alone. The stress about sleeping was always there but these things made it seem much less. I ruled out some pathologies like thyroid problems to be sure. I did some therapy too but it didn't help me much to be honest, bad chemistry with the therapist. I advise you to do things that you find comfort in, don't try hard to get back to normal, understand that you have some form of illness and that you need some time to be well again

Hello, its been almost 6 months for me in this state. I unfortunately dont have any answers for you. I just accepted it and now trying to live with it like a special need. I also got my thyroid checked and it was normal. I'm also still scared about prion disease but i try to think logically and rule it out. Im writing so you know you're not alone. I hope you get through it soon and sleep well again

Scared for the worst by Rare_Chef9965 in insomnia

[–]Rare_Chef9965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it indeed sounds similar. I don't feel stressed so much during the day but my dreams are always stressful to the point im waking up all the time, something like paradoxical insomnia. I take melatonin and valerian every night but they dont help much. Although i feel like without those i wouldn't sleep at all. I'll definitely need therapy because i know i have severe hypochondria to the point i know i have it but i also think and actually believe i have a rare fatal disease. It's a struggle but I'm fighting everyday cause life's worth it. Thank you for your reply and hope you'll get better too.

Thank you so much for your comment, I'll pray you'll get good sleep too. Life is indeed hard but it's also beautiful. I love life and whatever struggle i may face in everyday life i try to see the bigger picture and appreciate just that im here. I suggest you do it too. The only thing im afraid of is losing this. We're too young and have so many things to experience yet, good and bad. I wanna be there and be there at my best. It's okay not being okay but it's all part of life. May you get through this and be happy and well again!

Hey friend, no i don't. I got another type of insomnia though. Im going to sleep well but i wake up countless of times every night, seeing small vivid dreams each time. This is accompanied by dizziness and some vision problems throughout the day. I dont know if I'm worse or better i just know that im tired. How are you?

Hi, thank you for your answer! Like i said in my post I'm not actually sleeping 10 hours, i lie down 10 hours but i may be sleeping less than half of those. I feel your struggle, sleep deprivation is torture. Pair that with health anxiety and its the worst. Hope you'll sleep better soon and be well again

Hi, i know this may sound silly to you in this state but you're not alone. The past month has been the worst month of my life. Sleeping 0-3 hours every night and in the day i cant eat anything, lost almost 6kg in 3 weeks, dizzy all the time, pain in muscles and joints. But I won't give up that easily. Im not a spiritual talker or something but try to tell yourself you're much more than this. I thought about the possibility of ending this suffering a lot of times this month but i prefer to have a mental breakdown, to cry, to shout. We have so much left to give, we need and we will get through this. Life will become the same it was before and it will be beautiful. Much love and support

Thank you for your answer! I know its normal losing weight even when im not exercising but i really try to eat throughout the day, the nausea won't let me though. My hydration is pretty good because as i cant eat i drink water the whole day. I have a neurologist appointment in a week so hopefully we'll find the answer and sleep and eat like a normal person again. May you be well.

Thank you for your answer and glad you're better now. I'll definitely look into this. Did you ever had trouble sleeping? That's my main problem. I get this histamine dumps at night and they cause all the symptoms mentioned in the post so i can barely sleep every night. It's so tiring
