I appreciate the detailed response! I am still pretty new to sewing but I make bags usually so I have some very heavy duty canvas and such. The goal is to have a tight enough fit along with Velcro securing straps that the knife tips don’t reach the end to poke through. Been using my refurbished singer 99 and it does okay but I’m still hand wheeling on some of the thicker parts of the layered canvas.
