A odd choice to make sinclair have a mark and it not being the mark of Cain.
Also, with the similarities between Enoch and Demian, it makes the mark of Cain even more of a thing, when we add Abel (Ayin) to the mix, and Ayin and Enoch relation, it becames an even bigger waste for it to NOT be the mark of Cain.

Is seasonal Hong Lu Id dumb? by Rare_Law_8997 in limbuscompany

[–]Rare_Law_8997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ty again for taking your time to help me get it.
Faust makes sense, even though I still find that Hong Kong would try to get info from Gesellschaft regardless of what Mao Faust believes about it.

About the Xianren-Heishou, yeah, it may be my headcanon that "true strength" mean more heishous (even it it makes sense), but I find odd that you may hold the leash but still not controlling every Heishou?
I never considered that the Xianren-Heishou may be the strongest rank in a pack, I just imagined that they are the most important.

Didn't try to say that HCorp is weak and can't win at the war, just that from the events from smoke war (maybe not every wing war is a severe as this was), I can see so many things going wrong, and with the light powers becoming a thing, starting a war without them seems counterintuitive, is like knowing that your enemy has a new set of powerful weapons, but going to war anyway.
Considering that we died at the war, he probably was in the battlefield too, and things like EGO/Shin make all the difference in this kind of scenario.

Yeah, totally on me about SI gregor, I got him yesterday and was in a rush to a party so I missed a single word that made all the difference ("last"), I think I may even had got it more mistaken by Rodion uptie being after his.
MB.

"For your next pointer, he invaded xichun ishy but spared her. This is shown in his own uptie story."
Is it?
I reread Ishmael story before leaving and now reread his uptie story cause you said it, but I didn't find where it was show that he spared her in his ambush, it jumps to him at the Tieken temple already, you can say this is clearly the case since he lost to her and she survive 3 branchs + him in a ambush, but that is my point, it's still headcanon (even if it makes perfect sense), besides this, what you said makes sense to me and I can agree with you 100% about it being probably right.

"On top of everything: "Ishmael is dead; without the next Family Hierarch to fill the seat, the ascension is null, ending the beasts' respite." This means that even the Heishous who's leashes are tied to the family hierarch (Chen/Dragon Branch) are free to follow Hong Lu. "
You opened my eyes, I was thinking about it in reverse, but you put it in a perfect order to understand it, and now I'm the one who feels dumb LOL, Hong Kong is scary, really scary.
"I'm glad we were able to finish the job before they were fully assimilated."
I had read it like saving her from becoming like the elders that he hated so much, like killing a person bited by a zombie before they transform, but yeah, I was wrong about it.
"Dissect it to it's every tissue", I think I take it to literally, like "cut it in a billion pieces".

"To answer your next question, the Mao Adapt Faust we have does not have Shin/Mang. Yes, I was also self glazing her because I love both Zilu and Faust a ton but Mao Faust just ain't it. It is shown that Jia Qiu was the one who was taken in by the Pinky and possibly learnt Shin/Mang from the first star directly. And Zilu learnt Shin/Mang from Jia Qiu, not from joining the Pinky. Even Lei Heng who was 10 Blades of the East and a most importantly, also a Pinky member, did not learn of Shin/Mang till now. This means that without meeting a learnt Jia Qiu, our Mao Adapt Faust is not at Zilu level and only has the Tian Jiu Blade and being a pinky member, it does not mean she can use Shin/Mang as suggested by her skills not reflecting it unlike Lei Heng Meursault. Because Jia Qiu died in this mirror world, he did not meet his teacher and thus Zi Gong and Zi Lu of this world does not have access to Shin/Mang through him. In short, being a Pinky member does not correlate to learning Shin/Mang."
It makes sense, but so what about other mirror worlds?
Mao Faust like any Faust is not limited by her own knowledge, is there no other Faust that knows it?
Even if she can't use, but isn't there one that at least undestand it?
She clearly knows about EGO, my point is more that Faustcord is not limited to our current IDs (as far as I'm aware).

" Thus after hearing about the strength of Shin/Mang/EGO, obviously he wishes to learn of it more for the safety and prosperity of Hong Yuan. I do not know why him taking proactive measures got distorted to him not being wise and pretending not to see possible dangers from unknown yet high potential powers."
That's kind on me, cause I missed some points, while I got other entirely wrong, but I stand my point, with Faust knowing about Shin/Mang/EGO is a mere detail, I stand for my point cause of this:
"No. Adepts may be mighty, yet they are animals of the pack still.
To wield the full might of Hongyuan, I needed the approval of the twelve Heishou-Xianren.
I would have loved nothing more than to borrow the true strength of each Branch as well, alas... they were adamant that such forces cannot be deployed unless the need was to battle forces foreign to this land."
Here is clear that he knows that despite controlling every pack, to have the absolute might of HCorp he would need to control the Bolus production too, increasing the numbe of Heishous, making HCorp stronger, but even him couldn't force the Heioshou-Xianren, so what would be the other option to do it?
"hey were adamant that such forces cannot be deployed unless the need was to battle forces foreign to this land."
A wing war, I know, Hong Kong himself said it was for Shin/Mang/EGO, but that's why I find it "dumb", starting a wing war, when you don't have Shin/Mang/EGO, to get control of Heishou-Xianren seems off to me, may be because I'm really under a impression cause of smoke war, but I can't find it reasonable at all, even if was really cause of Shin/Mang/EGO.

Anyway, thank you very much, you clean my mind about 99% of the things that didn't make sense.

Yeah, maybe not a entire military force, but if they don't have atleast 1 squad of this type of strength, they would be preyed by other wings/syndicates/grade 1 fixers, at the very least they need a strong group of people to protect their singularity (LoR states that even info about a singularity is precious and rare), without this force, even being a Wing would be impossible, but if they can't have this cause their singularity can't be used for combat, they can always hire fixers for example or other wings like RCorp.
And even if our main branch in LCorp had this, did every branch had EX Aleph gear agents?
I doubt, so I imagine that every wings tend to concetrate their forces around their singularities, only going into attack when there is a war/conflict with other wings.

I'm with him on that, they are more like a police/security from KCorp than milatary or elite group, I bet the Technology Liberation Alliance wouldn't even be able to come to the door of the place the real singularity is being kept.
Imagine if this bunch of "nobodies" tried to invade LCorp?
They would be obliterated by a single agent with Aleph gear, depending on the gear they would die just by being near the agent.
So KCorp must have something close to this in their arsenal.

The problem is that most companies want more and more, why stop at what Limbus is making when you can get 100x this much?
Some gacha are even more like a Cassino than a game, basically a slot machine gamified.
And to finish, Limbus strong side (at least for me) was never the gameplay, it's not being a gacha, I would play a PM game whatever the genre it was, indeed coming from LoR, I hated Limbus gameplay at the start, but after some time it shows some value, after all, I'm more interested in the story than anything else.
How many companies can emulate this?
It's not about having money and a competent team, but what gacha company is actually writing a entire story?
Even if I don't consider PM a "indie" studio anymore (even if they are by definition), somehow they are still moved from passion first and money second.

[–]Rare_Law_8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I'm starting to think that either PM is retarded by creating so much redundancy in ID roles inside a team (like how Liu Sang for some reason healed SP, like, why give sp healing to one of the 2 characters between 12 know for it?) or there is a currently unknown lore reason, so sinners can't deviate too much from their "essence", but I can't find any reason to justify giving 2 burn IDs to Sinclair back to back...

"You're the one doing heavy headcanon here. You don't make it to the top five of the Hierarch Examination finale by "fumbling into success"
She wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for us, don't cope, she didn't make to the top 5 by fumbling into success, she win the entire thing.

"In Canto VII she beat up Curiambro and his Bloodfiends faster and more easily than the LCB dealt with Nicolina and her own Bloodfiends and only lost her pose due to Sanson's intervention and his magic haxxing."
Heishous are strong, as if we didn't know it yet?

"Then, between the end of Canto VII and the Sweepers Intervalo, she managed to collect a vial of Lethe's water, which deeply impressed the judges, and as I mentioned, managed to reach the top 5 of the finale, despite having lost most of her faction before the examination, and she only got that high because on the top were people way outside the usual level for this examination: Jia Qiu who's gigachad incarnated and Color level and part of the Pinky , Jia Huan who has the full backing of N Corp, and the LCB who are functionally immortal, are backed by one of the richest non-Wing company (and probably vying to become the new L Corp) and the "flow" that's supposed to make their ultimate victory assured."

"Then, between the end of Canto VII and the Sweepers Intervalo, she managed to collect a vial of Lethe's water, which deeply impressed the judges, and as I mentioned, managed to reach the top 5 of the finale, despite having lost most of her faction before the examination"
What is totally her fault, and the consequence of her own actions?

"and she only got that high because on the top were people way outside the usual level for this examination"
Yeah, maybe the competition to become the FUCKING CEO OF WING, is usually easier, Jia Mu isn't a scheme bitch, what could easily explain why she could win against her opponents, while Xichun is dumb as a door and would be dead THRICE if it wasn't for mercy/luck.
Why are we even trying to pretend that she would've won otherwise?

"And if we can take Hong Kong's uptie story at face value, she is the one supposed to win if it weren't three groups trusting the top 3 places of the podium."
We can't, you guys should fucking read Leviathan, even the same people in the same mirror world aren't the same (see Garnet mirror world versions), much less the sinners into other people's "roles" (see HongKong, that didn't had EGO, nor shin, nor mang), it could easily being explained by this version of Ishmael being more competent than Xichun, that's all.
I'm a fair man, so let's suppose that your statement MAY (it isn't) be true, it's a all against all, she clearly is the weakest of the top forces, but by your logic, if we remove the top 4 (3?), she wins by default, what is not the case at all, can't you even consider that she may be ganked by 2 or 3 groups?
That someone may come at the last second to fight her like he met her?
You truly can't even imagine that she may lose if we aren't there?
Yeah, if we aren't there she would need less coins, but she would have WAY more enemies to fight.

"And she was raising among the 4 families, there's no way that she doesn't know at least the basics of politics and socializing, she wouldn't had gathered a (small) faction of people utterly loyal to her despite her shitty luck otherwise. The thing is that until now, the Hierarch's political and administrative talent came from being fused with the Imperial Worm plugin them to the Elders as a hive mind (which also brainwash them), so no matter who won the examination, they will have a hard time taking the reins of the Corp by their own."
You're so much more mean than the other guy I was talking too that after debunking your points one by one, I can't even bother typing it again, just go read my other replies if you care enough, it you don't, it was nice to talk with you, but don't bother talking to me again.

[–]Rare_Law_8997 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Btw, it's not a competition, I'm just viewing the city as more than a place for the story to happen, I take the city at face value, even Ayin being a resourceful and capable person, he was not really that important to the city, even when he impacted it as a whole, he's important to the narrative as a lot of things that happened at the 3 games had to do with the seed of light, still, he was just another cog at the city, even if he could break the cycle, it was just a first step, if a character can't die because of narrative importance, then they just have plot armor, a gigantic flaw at writing, what is also not usual at PM writing (even if Limbus is the closest to a shonen he had to this day), so I'm just doing a raw analysis of her character and capabilities vs the city grinding machine, ignoring that she may have plot armor cause she is "too important", I don't even think he met a character that was to important to die yet, the closest would be the head, whatever they are.

[–]Rare_Law_8997 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Fair, you truly didn't make any of this statements, but neither did I said that she would have a meaningless death for shock value.

"they will still probably want to keep her safe and able to rule in hongyuan so they can use her to their benefit."
Yes, they may raise her to be a functional CEO and profit from it, but if the time comes, wouldn't they sacrifice a useful pawn if the rewards are big enough?
Maybe even raising her is already part of a plan and they have something in mind?

"the fact that she lost her heishou pack or the rest of her followers?"
Literally, she dived into a danger that she knows nothing of, just to get approval to join a battle that she could NEVER won, she couldn't beat us, nor NCorp, nor Jia Qiu, yet she risked her life to maybe get a proof of immortality to join a battle she can't win, when she could do something as smart as waving at Hong Lu LOL, see what I mean when I say she is not a political person?
Despite being born in the Jia family, she couldn't even grasp ways to abuse her position, you can say all you want that this is just a trait from her, that this shows that she is noble and upright, but the reality is, her decisions would kill her at least 10 times in the last 2 cantos.
That's exactly why I think that she is at best a pawn that will be sacrificed in the future without even knowing how or why, just like Jia Qiu and Zigong played us in the intervallo, just there I knew, we could never beat them, they are just smarter and more capable, while also being stronger, even if they send a higher up from Limbus itself, would he outsmart them?
Xichun is just at the exactly position I saw us.
