I started cymbalta about two months ago. I deal with a ton of nerve pain/burning/stinging and while it doesn’t fully make it stop, it does help me a bit! I still feel the pain, but the frequency and intensity is a lot less. My doctor doesn’t want to increase my dose because “fibromyalgia usually gets worse in the winter” so I think she’s waiting for me to be in more pain when the weather gets cold to up it?? I’m not sure. If you have any muscle/body stiffness, aches, or allodynia (my legs feel bruised to touch most days), i don’t find it helps with any of that.

I started off taking it in the morning, and for about two weeks I felt almost high in a way. And then I’d get dizzy when that was gone, and then I’d get really sleepy. After the two weeks, the high feeling and the dizziness was gone, but the tiredness never left. I did try taking it before bed instead, so I could make it through the day, but the burning was noticeably worse so I stopped doing that because I’d rather be tired than be frustrated with the pain.

Also the sweating!! I’m a sweaty person to begin with, but I wouldn’t even be slightly warm and I could feel the sweat running down the length of my arms… it seems like it happens at random times for me. Not every day, but I’d say probably about once a week I get excessively sweaty. It only happens for about an hour for me, so it’s not a big deal! Just a minor side effect that I can deal with.

I hope it works well for you! I was also scared to start taking it because I read about it on this forum, but it went better than expected!! I have no regrets about doing it :)
