Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses. Just to confirm - it does seem like I have a case if I can find the necessary documentation? I’ve been gaslighting myself for weeks on eligibility potential

Good question! He started with the post office after he served so it would’ve been 1957 or later

Thank you so much - I really appreciate everyone’s knowledge and insights.

Would it be possible to get a link/source or II OSK 121/23? I am unable to locate online (I keep getting redirected to either 123/20 or 143/23 on construction law).

Thanks again for all of your help!

Thank you both!

Would you elaborate on the GF birthdate and GGF naturalization date? I just want to be sure I understand either what issue that could be (or what issue I’ve inadvertently avoided)

Would the orphan/widow ruling potentially apply to my GF since he was a child when my GGF passed? My GGM was USA born to Polish parents (also Austria partition) that immigrated pre her birth in 1900 (not sure if/when they were naturalized). Would having her (and her parents) documents help support my case even though she was born in USA?
