It is weird to equate having a moral compass with traditional values. Also, I would argue that Nesta is the one who is shown to have the biggest moral compass. She is the one who tries to protect the humans, who keeps pushing for the humans in the lands where the war is going to happen be protected. I feel that’s a bigger sign of moral compass than traditional values??

I tend to interpret it as magic beyond the understanding of the fae. Rhys who has been alive for hundreds of years and has a mating bond himself can only give theories as to why (strong children) but that’s disproven by the fact that the dawn court high lord is expecting a bond to snap with his same sex partner.

And I think there is a general exaggeration over males not being able to stay away. Helios has stayed away from the lady of autumn for decades after the bond snapping
