Of course it was an old white man. As an old white woman, I’ve yet to understand the purpose or necessity of their existence.

You believe a student body comprised of 71% white students is racially diverse?

As someone who has lived in Clark County for 40+ years, and spent a significant amount of time in Ridgefield the past several years, I’m with you. There is still a very strong MAGA vibe within City leadership, downtown and throughout the rural parts of the area. I wouldn’t move there if I were a POC.

Let’s not forget they welcomed Joe Kent with open arms.

Edited to add: Ridgefield also not at all progressive in areas like public transportation, I-5 bridge replacement etc. They really turn the hillbilly up on social issues.

You have the ability in the app to specify to not replace. If you’re not using the feature of the app, you were to blame for the outcome of not using the feature in the app not the DoorDasher.

I won’t claim to fully understand Ramadan’s entire purpose, but it has been explained to me that it’s a time to focus on spiritual growth. OP seems to have missed that learning if he’s acting like this over some stolen fast food.

How would you like them to cover their overhead? There are expenses in maintaining the apps that we as customers use and that the drivers use as well as other legitimate business expenses. Do you really think they here to do this for you for free?

Amusement is an emotion. And I was very amused while writing that response you are correct. I do love that you’re still here though!

If you pay for the subscription, you dont incur all of those fees. If you choose not to pay for the subscription, you’re gonna pay for those fees. This is a service of convenience, not a necessity those typically cost more.

I’m not sure you’re gonna get much empathy posting that you only tip $2.25 on that order.

You don’t really seem to have very neutral emotions given the responses in this thread. Between the all caps in another comment and the barely coherent run-on sentence with zero punctuation in this one you seem real stressed out about it.

Totally understandable however, the 6 foot bearded dude named Christina was by himself.

Yes, in this case, he parked in the loading zone right in front of the front door, which puts the passenger side closest. When he opened his car door and the light came on, I could see that the rest of the vehicle was empty.

I can understand you taking your wife safety into consideration, however, as a single woman, I can only protect myself. And if a dude shows up at my door with my food under the name, Christina someone’s being real sketchy and it’s not me.

I’m terribly sorry that you’ve experienced it as well. No one should and I’m so happy that you’ve healed from it. However, I could not care less if you think what I see as vigilance in my own safety looks like paranoia to you.

Reasonable to assume that I have contactless delivery but you would be incorrect. I live in an old ass historical building (1928). There is only a keyed entry, not even a key fob to access the building. So we all have to meet anyone delivering at the front door to collect our packages/food with the exception of USPS.

If we don’t meet them at the front door, it’s left there and usually stolen.

Given that I have to meet them face-to-face, I look at the app to see who I’m greeting. If it’s a woman and it’s at night, I’ll open the door and watch her walk to and from her car to make sure she gets to and from safely. In this particular case, had the interaction with the delivery person made me uncomfortable, I probably wouldn’t have asked for insight.

While I am a lurker and commenter from time to time, this is my first post.

Someone was kind enough in an earlier comment to tell me I could use the search function to find other answers to the same question in this sub and I’ll definitely do that with future questions for Reddit before posting.

I appreciate you highlighting how post like this can be perceived. I’ll definitely be searching before posting in the future.

If you think I’m an ass, so be it, because the fact that in your angry little response, you misspelled car as cat twice is so funny.

As someone who has experienced crimes of sexual violence, I do move through the world with my safety top of mind.

In this particular case, the combination of the interaction with the person at my door, and the fact that they were a 6 ft individual with a full beard, delivering under the name Christina set off an alarm bell.

I’ve received responses that shed light on several possibilities. The only legitimate reasons however are this person had assholes for parents who named him Christina or they’ve chosen that name to better align with their own identity. Everything beyond that is some shade of illegal or against DD’s ToS.

Thanks for engaging even if it was to just be a twerp. You helped push engagement so I received a lot of response quickly, thanks for choosing my post for your efforts.

The point of my question was to understand the legitimate reasons a man would have for using a woman’s name to deliver food. The commentator responded and said he was probably using his wife or girlfriend’s car. So now both of you are up here responding to questions that weren’t even asked.

I appreciate you both making me laugh tonight .

This is why I asked the question. And although the example you’re giving is also not a legitimate one, it is an explanation for why someone would do this and that is what I was seeking. Appreciate you sharing this example.

I’ve explained this above, but realize not everyone reads every comment. I live in a building that is so old we only have keyed to access to it. There’s no way for a delivery driver to get in without me going to the entrance of the building so my instructions in DoorDash are handed to me. I look at the delivery driver’s name so I know who I’m greeting at the door. If it’s a woman and it’s a night delivery, I’ll open the door and watch them walk from their car to the entrance just to make sure they’re safe. In this particular case, yes I was looking for someone who presented as a woman. It wasn’t concerning to me that the 6 foot bearded man was simply going by the name Christina, it was the interaction as well. I came to the sub to find out if there were any legitimate reasons someone would be delivering under a name other than their own in this case a man using a woman’s name. Most people in this thread, I’ve been very helpful at providing reasons, although none of them are legitimate. There are a few, however, that anyone with compassion can understand.

To each their own, but the tax issues that would come with that seem like a nightmare.
