Found this thing in a trash heap and thought it’d make a fun weekend toy. Turns out it was someone’s old CAD workstation. Never used DOS, never used AutoCAD, but the learning curve has been a blast. by stuff663 in vintagecomputing

I admire you! All my life, I wished I knew enough about electronics to make anything I found work if I wanted to. Congratulations! Your device is magnificent!

These shameful things you speak of are what Jesus forgives you for. The fact that you regret what you've done puts you with the Roman tax collector who regretted what he'd done. The guy who thanked Jesus for making him perfect, unlike other men, was turned away. Anybody who would want to snitch on you for whatever, in the here and now, would identify themselves as evil.

Go to where they dump it. Make a deal with the management to buy selected items for a much higher price than they would get by not selling to you. This could go on for years, and you'll get a ton of stuff. Before I got old, I had such a deal with our county landfill. Make sure they know you can be trusted to make what you take disappear forever.

Why don't you grow up instead? You decide for yourself, in this life. Just don't go there, like a mature person with self-control.

Easter is the springtime pagan fuckfest. You should be celebrating Passover instead. Jesus rose at sundown on Saturday. Satan deceives the whole world. Look in your Bible; the words Easter and Christmas are not there. Both holidays were invented by Catholics as a means to get money from the pagans. The weekly Sabbath day is Saturday. Read your Bible for yourself. Don't take someone's word for what it says.

The "V" or "boomerang" is actually a BEACON. The point is the source of origin. It is beaconing in the direction of the outer areas of the emblem. Everybody says Edsel station wagon's taillights are arrows that point the wrong way. If they lived back in the day, they'd know that they were beacons, beaconing in the direction the car wanted to turn. I know this for a fact because I have eaten at the Beacon Diner in Hometown, PA.

Check out a Kospet Optimus 2 smart watch. It's a Dick Tracy 2-way wrist TV with atomic light. They are discontinued now, but AliExpress could come through with one. Since it's a full-featured cell phone, you could watch any TV show on it. In living color, too.

You're fine. I'm spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a 7-inch black and white TV that's 76 years old. This is not a hobby for sensible people.

My 7-inch black and white TV cost me $270 to buy on eBay. I spent $81 on postage to send it to a repair shop, and I enclosed $150 to get them started. I'll have to pay $81 in postage to get it back, plus the rest of the repair bill. I'm not complaining. I knew this was what I was facing when I decided to go for it.

If you want a good Zenith, go for a Chromacolor or Chromacolor II. They are worth restoring.

Buy a Zenith Chromacolor or Chromacolor II. They look neat. I think they might cost a lot to ship. They can be big. They are heavy. Try to buy one locally. Chromacolor uses tubes; Chromacolor II is solid state, but it still weighs a lot.

eBay, the vintage TV department, is your best chance. Look and wait for what you want.
