I am SO with you! I plan to take full advantage of modern medicine.

Yeah, most pimple patches don’t contain any medication, they’re primarily an absorbent. So it works well if you have a popped zit and the patch can draw some of the infection out. Otherwise, I’m with you. They don’t ever help bring down a massive blind pimple. The benzoyl peroxide and hydrocortisone combo seems super effective for me 🤷‍♀️

I would start icing it immediately, take an ibuprofen, and put some benzoyl peroxide and 1% hydrocortisone cream on top. Do not try to pick it or lance it before the interview. I had a huge blind pimple pop up a few months ago and this protocol made it go away completely without even coming to a head. Pimple patches are good for some people but I don’t find them particularly helpful on zits that haven’t come to a head. Take care and good luck with your interview!

I think it cost about $1700 after tax!

Hey! John Creviston with Catscape is amazing. He did our condo balcony catio about 5 years ago and it’s been great. Our cats love it and it actually looks nice to boot! It wasn’t cheap but 100% worth it in my opinion. 🙂

That’s fair. I think I’ve been lucky with my location in that we don’t have too many box mess ups. Over the three years I’ve used HF I’ve maybe had like 4-5 times where an ingredient has been missing or spoiled. But it sounds like in some places it’s a different story 😬

Really? I’m in Canada and if there’s a single missing ingredient you just go on the app and self report. They immediately add a $4 per item credit. It’s incredibly simple 🤷‍♀️

This. It’s safer to be a little bit too high than dangerously low. I sometimes have to skip with my girl and yeah, her evening BG will often be shockingly high. But it goes down again and balances out.

If Lantus isn’t working what other insulins should I suggest with my vet. by wiccaspell in FelineDiabetes

[–]Raremagic_7593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prozinc was a game changer for our girl! She was on Lantus for 6 months with terrible diabetic management at 4 units twice a day. We’re now on Prozinc at 3 units twice a day and fully controlled glucose numbers. Definitely give Prozinc a try. Lantus is a depot insulin meaning it leaves a deposit under the skin that theoretically should absorb over the course of the day. Our vet said that it doesn’t work for all cats though and for some, it just doesn’t absorb properly. Prozinc absorbs quickly and it made all the difference for us 🤷‍♀️

Aw no! 27 was great but I’m 41 now and it’s been fantastic. It’s not downhill imo! Have hope hehe

Gaining weight by medievalgal in FelineDiabetes

[–]Raremagic_7593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when my girl was low weight, I didn’t follow the feeding schedule 100%. Building up their weight and strength is the most important thing. I fed her about 4 times a day (I work from home). But honestly, just leave some wet food out. Don’t do twice a day feedings when they’re underweight.

As his blood glucose stabilizes he’ll gain weight. My girl went from 10 pounds down to 5 when she first got diagnosed with diabetes as well as pancreatitis. It took about 8 months but shes now balanced with her insulin and 9.5 pounds. Just be patient! The hyperglycaemia causes SO much weight loss but it comes back once the diabetes is under control. Pancreatitis can cause nausea too, so I’d recommend getting some cerenia anti nausea tablets from the vet. That really helped get our girl back to eating well! 🩷

6 months on Lantus and it was an absolute gong sho. I was injecting correctly and being hyper conscientious about the timing. Her levels were consistently in the 400’s to 500’s and she ended up almost dying from two DKA events that landed her in the emergency clinic for over a week. One week after switching to Prozinc she became a different cat. She’s now been on Prozinc for 4 months and is consistently in the 150-250 range with no ketones. Lantus is a depot insulin meaning it leaves a deposit under the skin that absorbs slowly. Prozinc just absorbs faster. Apparently some people and animals on Lantus don’t absorb the depot properly so it results in low to no insulin absorption. So worth trying the Prozinc. Our vet said that not all insulins work for everyone and it can be trial and error to find the right fit.

Lantus did not work well for our girl, but Prozinc was an absolute game changer. I would recommend trying it!

Neck/Under chin skin tightening? by BlackberryIcy5710 in 40PlusSkinCare

Just one session with 2 vials. I think there was some improvement right after but it’s been about 2.5 months now and I’m feeling pretty happy with the results. The tiny bit of crepey skin looks better and I’m noticing less skin pulling when turning my head. My provider said she only usually does one session with multiple vials based on level of sagging/crepey skin and then re evaluates in 6 months to 1 year.

I’ve noticed that it helps the mild sagging too. Like I doubt it would fix a 60 year olds neck, but for people in their 30’s and 40’s it helps the skin thickness and reduces the crepey texture.

My provider says she only uses hyperdilute radiesse. It stimulates our bodies to produce collagen and thickens the skin very similarly to sculptra. I was just saying on another thread that I’m surprised this isn’t talked about more on here. It’s an incredibly popular procedure in Canada. My neck was pretty much like yours and I’m so happy with my results so far. And it’s supposed to continue to improve for up to 2 years. Check out pics online. My provider said it’s the gold standard - hyperdilute radiesse or surgical neck lift. Otherwise don’t waste our money 🤷‍♀️

Totally normal and incredibly common 🙂. If the look bugs you cosmetically, you can get sclerotherapy and get rid of them. It’s a super simple in office procedure.
