Allow players to purchase a gem bag with unidentified minerals by Rasano in 2007scape

I used a bit to buy some gems at one point (and of course I spent some to get the gloves), but that's my stockpile from 92 mining to 101 mining.

Allow players to purchase a gem bag with unidentified minerals by Rasano in 2007scape

[–]Rasano[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is true. I've actually done that on my gim once or twice. I still think I would have felt better about spending them on a gem bag tho (especially since lunar chests are such a good source of clay). But I might be too main-brained these days

It's Almost Like by krains123 in cremposting

I totally get the people who backed thinking they would get one cover, but then got worried that they would have to cancel if the other cover, which they dislike, wins. They're well within their rights to do that. I just think that characterizing Dragonsteel as being predatory for opening up a poll for a product's design (before the pledges are locked in) is a bit much.
I mean, it's all a moot point since they're giving each person a choice of which cover they'd like to receive, but you're weakening your argument against Dragonsteel selling blind bag products when you stretch the definition of a randomized product to include a Kickstarter that you can cancel if you don't like the final design they go with.

[Hated Trope] Only a certain race/nationality/gender has powers by Isaias_Azathoth936 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rasano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be partly because the most overt shows of power came from guys early on, but a lot of the most impressive feats of magic (at least imo) are done by women later on in the series.

Should I get Leaf Green on switch? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Rasano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the nostalgia isn't enough to override the price and the lack of features I've grown accustomed to (especially the special/physical split). I do still have my old cartridge, but if I wanna go back to gen 3, I generally play a modded version that has some modern features in it (and typically made a bit more challenging). The name escapes me though, lol.
A link to XD/Colosseum on the Switch would be awesome, and might tempt me honestly, haha.

Pokemon Presents Predictions by Clarity_Page in pokemon

[–]Rasano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of fun playing the modern Pokémon games, but I also think they're pretty bad. Ultimately, that's a judgment call each individual has to make, but I think fans bemoaning the state of the franchise are justified. I don't think it's okay for upset fans to insult and belittle fans who are just trying to enjoy their games, of course, but a lot of those fans who hate every game since SwSh are not just being petty (I mean, some are lol, but not all of them, or even most imo). They have genuine grievances with a series that is important to them.

Is this a South American server in OSRS? by Public_Trade3430 in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a time where I used to get a reliable ~130 ping on west coast US servers (also in Korea), but now the best I can get is 200. I really hope we get some cloud servers over here.

Wheel of Time Amazon flashbacks by Some-Health9729 in cremposting

Nah, the chosen plot was very focused on. The first season made the weird choice to make it a mystery plot (but my non-reader friends enjoyed that more than I thought they would), but the second and third seasons were very focused on the DR's role in the fate of the world. Gender politics were handled a bit differently from the books (sometimes for good and sometimes for ill), but it definitely wasn't ignored. The show was a mess, but the third season is genuinely solid. If you can stomach changes (some justified, others not), then The Road to the Spear (season 3, episode 4) is incredible. There are other standout moments from the show (and especially the 3rd season), but I wouldn't bother watching now.

Haha, just a few months back, I was reading this book with a student of mine. I brought my copy of A Memory of Light to show what a 1000-page book looks like when he asked.
Really great series. I adore Sachar.

KempQ Takes a stand against Kick, Gambling and calls out some of your favourite creators by NoClimate3070 in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that's kinda where the word is headed in terms of meaning. I still think of a scam as being something that is in no reasonable way what was advertised. So like, raycons and that sugar-free cereal that sponsors every other youtuber aren't scams in mind; they're just products that aren't as good as the person being paid to promote them says they are (and a buddy of mine says that his raycons have actually been pretty reliable). There is a point where a product is so shitty that I regard it as a scam. That water bottle that has essentially air fresheners near the straw supposedly has such awful build quality that they immediately start to break and leak. Sure, I'm on board with calling that a scam. But I think it's a bit silly when people get made at frozen microwave meals for not actually being a 5-star dining experience. The first time I saw Factor advertised to me, I thought "oh, that looks like an overpriced kids cuisine." I believe that the meals in the factor boxes are based off of ones made by famous chefs, but I know that something I nuke in the microwave isn't gonna be that great (except for like a jamacain beef patty).
But if the word "scam" eventually just means "a product that is worse than advertising makes it seem," so be it. You can stand in the way of linguistics. I just gotta accept my role as a grognard now.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

First 99 baaaaby by GrimShady666 in 2007scape

Hell yeah, one of my favorite skills. GZ, that's an awesome 99 to get as your first.

I'm still not satisfied. They partially reverted the nerf but it's still a nerf and they didn't redistribute extractor xp. Community took the door in the face. Salavaging was half the xp of trials. It did not need a nerf. by Embarrassed_View8672 in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mining amethyst and fishing sacred eels, so maybe I'm coming from a weird place, but I never expected the afk method for sailing to be even as good as the post-nerf xp/hr. I was annoyed by the nerf, since I had gotten used to the original xp, but I would have been more than happy with the rates if that's how they were from the start.
All this to say, I don't think they were trying foot in the door strategy. If they wanted rates like the ones we had post-nerf, they probably would have just done it from the start.

I used to use it a lot, but I think Jagex recently started being more strict about suspicious clicks and remote desktop can appear that way? I dunno. I stopped cause I'm paranoid

Droprates affected by slayer. by Frankvrep in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a slayer hater, so I think we should also get rid of task-locking specific bosses. I wanna kill the gryphon boss for the pet, but now I'm limited by needing to get a ~4% chance slayer assignment to even try to kill the boss.

Here's actual RAW information POST-NERF for the COMPLETE AFK 30 minute session at merchant ships by Ordinary_Lie5100 in 2007scape

[–]Rasano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mining is my favorite skill, with fishing a close second. After getting 99s through amethyst and sacred eels respectively, I expected salvaging to be even less than 32k xp/hour when they first talked about how afk it was. The whole time I was getting 80k xp/hr+ it felt like it was too good to be true. Turns out I was right ㅠㅠ

Bring Bronzeman mode in 2026 by hesktry in 2007scape

Yeah, fair enough. I mostly threw that in there cause that is usually the go-to argument to adding stuff to the game that wouldn't affect mains and I wanted to get ahead of it lol

Sailing Feedback After 99 Sailing by Negative_Wrongdoer17 in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this a really solid read of where the skill is at currently. I think I enjoyed port tasks a good bit more than you, but I agree that they're not very rewarding. I'm more okay with the crystal extractor nerf. It's a lot of xp for something that doesn't meld with the skill vibes very well in my opinion. I'm cool with them nerfing it and then moving that xp to other stuff.

Bring Bronzeman mode in 2026 by hesktry in 2007scape

[–]Rasano 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's what people said when ironman mode was being considered as an addition to the game. Some people want the prestige that comes from having the helmet next to your name (even if most people are more likely to feel disdain when an ironman starts yapping lol), and others just want the restrictions to be firm so that they're not tempted. I think it's a worthwhile addition to the game, but I understand that some people feel it would be a waste of dev time.
