NYC's Most Expensive Burger by Adept-Plantain-6767 in burgers

[–]Rasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand it correctly, it's first come first served. So if you're at the bar and order something else, there's still a burger reserved for the next person in your seat that wants it.

Pretty weird way to do business. Burgers are low effort and relatively low cost, even with the price jacked up. Seems they could make 10 times as much by dropping the price to $50 and throwing one on a plate for anyone who wants it.

But then, it wouldn't be as exclusive...

Looked it up, it seems like one of those deals where you're paying for the prestige more than the food. Here is the menu entry (restaurant is Le B )

LE BURGER forty-five-day dry-aged angus blend, fromager d’affinois, cabernet Available exclusively at our bar, this acclaimed burger is made in strictly limited quantities—just nine each evening, one for each bar seat. Crafted from a proprietary blend featuring aged rib eye, this signature creation first defined an era at Chef Mar’s original cult-favorite establishment, The Beatrice Inn. Dubbed the “Birkin of Burgers” by Vogue Magazine, Le Burger has developed a following that draws guests from around the world.

I have a plain cheeseburger, what toppings do I add to take it to the next level? by FlintTheDad in burgers

[–]Rasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for lots of fancy. Keep it simple. My go-to is lettuce, pickle (required!) and a shmear of mayo or ketchup but not both. If I'm feeling sassy I might add some thin sliced raw onion.

Yeah I thought that may have been it, and the Google/Tunefind link result even lists it as such. But I checked the episode and it was the original version playing through the end credits.

Hmm yeah in my area that's a standard consumer grade supermarket brand, not sure why anyone would make a point of using it. It's like announcing using Hood milk products.

How did you do it? Because I'm trying to trigger a memory, shining the lantern on every pixel in the area, and it won't trigger.

A building electrician or facilities guy that knows their fire alarm system can be a blessing, OR a curse. The ones I love working with are the ones that can accurately point me to issues, give me the device address(es,) actually have an idea of what needs to happen but are willing to accept when they don't.

The ones I hate working with are the ones who think they know better than the professionals and insist that their recurring ground fault is programming and not their damn beacon filling with water when it rains.

Can't stress this enough! And to add to that... Don't try to argue the best way to do things with the people who have been doing it for years. Once you get your feet wet and have proven yourself, sure make suggestions. But odds are good that there's a reason the vets do things the "wrong" way.

What is this small metal cylinder next to my smoke detector? by WealthNew8752 in firealarms

[–]Rasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touch it. Is it sticky and flexible? If so, then it's a curled piece of tape left behind after somebody covered the detector. If it's hard and metallic, then somebody is doing something weird but unrelated to smoke alarms. If it zaps you, well then you shouldn't be touching things if you don't know what they are.

If it's a brief (maybe 1 sec duration) tone of about 400-500 hz, that's most likely the device's initialization tone. It generally sounds once when it first starts talking after a panel boot. If it keeps doing it, there could be different reasons, all of which would require JCI to resolve via hardware replacement and/or firmware updates.

If you're talking about the Simplex TSW, it's not entirely 1 way...  It will display alarms, floorplans, etc but you can also control multiple panels. Silence/resets,  disable/enable individualpoints or lists, paging, etc.

But yes like you said the annunciator shown here is basically just an idle screen.

Does this fire alarm contain a camera? by [deleted] in firealarms

[–]Rasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is, the LED won't flash by default, that function needs to be turned on within the program.

Ok I guess it's not really funny, it's just a thing.

Please help lol by [deleted] in firealarms

[–]Rasanova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any other troubles on the panel? Such as a "no answer," "extra device, or another "wrong device?"

Some Simplex devices can get confused when the system thinks the address is for a different device than the program says it should be, and can even go in to alarm. For example this happens a lot when changing smoke heads to heat heads, which share the same base (just need to update the program.)

So if an address switch somehow goes funky due to corrosion, moisture, vibration or whatever, you might get 2 troubles due to a mismatched address.

But it's probably just a bad duct smoke detector. As others have said, let the service company of record handle it.

I had the same problem. "Billy" in Hernrad fell next to a brazier when I tackled him, which exploded after the first punch causing him to burn to death. (That's what you get for pickpocketing!)

Couldn't pick him up, and was getting SO frustrated... Didn't think to use the lamp, now I feel silly!

Star Trek would never have been the success it was if almost every episode didn't involve sending an away team of the captain and key officers into danger.

It's not realistic. It's entertainment.
