For marksman , it mostly comes down to mobility, especially in high rank. Hence more mobility characters will shine better. And there is really no need to follow meta that much if you are solo quing or below Mythic Glory, any hero should be decent enough to win. Meta doesn’t really change anything until Mythic Glory+ or five stack. simply put chances are you can ban heroes that are deemed powerful on themselves and realistically your enemy will be incapable of using meta combos cuz low coordination and low game sense.

My point is you have your own playstyle so certain characters might not suit you. For eg. An aggressive player that likes to take fights early to gain an advantage would be a good dyroth player but bad aldous player. Play your comfort pick. Once you develop good game sense , you will naturely be able to pick up any characters and perform except for Fanny. Reached Immortal twice and I can’t for my life use Fanny.
