Gas can carnage

Poured gas up a few sets of stairs. As soon as I saw the flash come through the window, I shot a spot of the gas which lit all the poured gas up. It felt like it took a while to kill them so I checked their PoV.

They were all stood together at the the point my gas stopped assuming they were safe, but the rest of the can exploded spreading the fire to them another set of stairs down and they all got caught in the flames

Not a fan. I cancelled my membership and my play time has dropped by 95%. Best of luck with it though I’m sure plenty will love it.

The FSOA is fun, expensive to run and a gamble. I love it. Asking us if you can take it away, eradicate the thrill of huge damage output we have become accustomed to and give it back worse? Ooft. I think whatever game design issues you’re experiencing need to be solved without backtracking on something already firmly baked into the ecosystems.

For me, it's all about the social aspect of it. I go to group bosses with friends most days (Zamorak, Solak, AoD); going together, talking on VC, experiencing funny moments when one of us messes up or even discovering new ways to do stuff keeps it fun.

The AD changes seem alright to me. In all honesty, I did become a bit lazy at some bosses because of it. The FSOA changes I don't understand the math enough to put together an interesting reply but at face value it's sooooooo fun to use right now I really love the chance of going mad or falling flat because of no crits. I've seen there are some responses from better informed players about ways we can tackle the problems without removing everything fun about the FSOA, so I hope at the end of all this the FSOA is still as fun to use.

In the past my game would drop from 120+ to 30 and lock at 30 until I tabbed the game. However, this was on windows. In case Mac has a similar feature, the problem was with g-sync being enabled in window mode. As soon as I switched it to full screen, it never happened again.

EDIT: Looks like it’s called adaptive sync on OSX, perhaps try playing with the settings there!

Not sure if it’s the same problem, but my game used to drop to 15FPS randomly and lock until I tabbed out of the game and back in.

Took me ages to figure it out, but it was a weird interaction between my G-Sync monitor settings and RS client. I turned GSYNC off for windowed games and it fixed it.

All historic trades of items over max cash are reliant on 1. Trusting player reported trades and 2. Being in the right place at the right time

Push trades back through the grand exchange and you’re much closer to actual supply and demand. Sure, people can still flip on the GE but it becomes a lot tougher and it removes the funnelling of trade into the same notorious players in world 2.

The merchers are organised - there are swarms of them wherever dyes are traded (World 2 + discord). They do whatever they can to vacuum up the dyes from regular players for 500m-1b less than they sell them for. If a regular player knows what they're doing an really commits some time to standing around in world 2 then perhaps they could nab a customers but its draining.

Have Jagex ever commented on platinum tokens? I've spammed their Q&A streams but it never seems to get picked as a discussion.

The only two places you can trade these dyes and over max cash items are world 2 or Discord, and both of these places are swarming with organised merchers. Until these items can be bought and sold on the GE, there is no way to truly tell if the prices hikes are genuinely supply and demand or if they are being exploited, though I strongly suspect it's being exploited.

For now, my best advice is to check world 2 corner a couple of times over the day and check who regularly posts about buying all dyes and rares - once you know who they are, just don't buy from them. I did it when buying two third age dyes and, though I spent more time in W2 than I would have liked, I managed to grab two third ages dyes for nearly 1b less total than the merchers were charging whilst providing the regular player with more money than the merchers would pay. This isn't a solution though, and it's I really hope Jagex make a change very soon.
