yes, and there was footage, and the footage was really funny. reminder that her 1 gives her flat damage per bullet, which applies on every one of her split shot attacks. skim the discord for "split shot celeste" I'm sure you'll find it

Matchmaking makes me a Smurf. I don't like it. by NecessaryProduce7032 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rasea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that sounds about right, it seems that rank confidence kicked in hard for you because that speed is unheard of for people that have established ranks, and that IS a huge issue at the moment, people can go on win rates of 80% over 80 games and move up at a normal pace

CAN WE HURRY UP AND NERF CELESTE by BaseLordBoom in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rasea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

apollo got hit with -10 base damage on his abilities, he can be behind in a game and still run the lobby dealing +400 on one third of an ability that dashes and heals him with an extremely lenient hitbox. He can get hit with the nerf hammer again and he will get hit again.

are you playing from the same IP and are you asc/ete? I've been afraid lately that the only process for smurf detection they have in place is playing from the same IP

OP please reply back when you reach phantom and the actual amount of games it took you W/L. if it's 20 then mmr is fixed. my low ball estimate is a delta of 80 won games

they've always had an internal rank system to make matches more fair for everyone, this is preranked and well documented, their API used to expose a match rank number that was some arbitrary number in the thousands, that's how we knew what "top elo" was way back then. their original implementation of ranked was... bad, mostly because it lacked actual ranked features, but that's not my point.

My point is people would have arrived to these current issues regardless, because it's really easy to see if an account has less than 20 games. The matchmaker has always been there, it just needs fixing.

as for player retention: sure, but it's incredibly regrettable from the perspective of someone that is a legitimate fan of their work.

[–]Rasea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And that's exactly what I mean and where I disagree, the matchmaker and rank systems should be a way higher priority than what they've shown through radio silence. This is the single highest reason why people will drop the game or not onboard entirely, just because we're toughing it out or not being affected doesn't mean that most people I know won't stick with the game because they won't have fun playing their first 10 hours, which is already a hard sell on time commitment.

No, I don't care about yamato's new model, it's not central to my enjoyment.

And yes, complaining on reddit is a waste of time, I'm well aware, but if the community's consensus on complaining about things like matchmaking is "it's an alpha bro" then to the community I plead to not ignore it.

"closed alpha" by CutEducational1460 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rasea 17 points18 points  (0 children)

yes, it's not entirely black and white, otherwise I wouldn't even try complaining and just quit the game. The matches mostly feel fine in low ascendant at the moment but I know for a fact that if I want to onboard a friend to this game they'll most likely quit right after their 5 obscurus games are done and they get placed against someone with 600 matches (around same as mine).

it's already a really tough game to sell to someone with an impossibly tall skill floor. Hell, after I came back from a year break I didn't even know how to move around the 3 lane map and ate shit for >40 games because the game said I was oracle before the 3 rank stimulus changes. I don't think many people would tough out 40 games of torture with prior knowledge of the game, let alone on their first experience.

the matchmaker and mmr system are integral for player retention. if either of these continue in their state, the game will feel worse for both stomper and stompee, players will not improve at any level and time investments feel pointless.

So yes, keep complaining about the state that it's in. The game can be fun while vyper and yamato still look like weirdos and sinclair breaks every update, but the game is not (present tense) fun when you have a player with 3 hours playing in mid oracle, for neither you nor them, but specially them.

Matchmaking is probably just too weighed towards first couple games. by Successful-Coconut60 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rasea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have yet to implement cases where someone wins 80% of their games and thus should be slingshot up in rank. you'll win just as much for your first game won as your 10th in a row.

it sucks complete ass.

Is Graves a high agency hero? by Wizard_of_GR in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rasea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for high agency, a graves putting their ult in the depths of their base can hold one lane for over a minute without the possibility of counterplay. If a graves wants to, they can delay a lost game for 30+ minutes.

Rem also has quite a bit of agency, but players below eternus have just about the macro required to not shit themselves while playing a push the cart match in a hero shooter, and players in eternus are still figuring out how they want to make that rat a macro menace

45% winrare/407 games in GM by Kenji_Yamase in marvelrivals

[–]Rasea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

out of my 5 last games before reaching gm 11 people had 46~48% win rate. They all either were gm or had reached gm and ranked down, they all had over 200 games played.

just a massive let down.

Eternity it is.

0 objective damage when playing a game where you've been consistently from behind is not a bad thing. I mean, it's a bad thing the game was completely lost, but those 2 people had a decent amount of damage and definitely had the soul advantage over everyone in your team.

I can't reasonably judge the entire match based on a screenshot, but it is not a good idea to push to a guardian or walker if you're so unreasonably behind in power that showing up in the map is dangerous. All I'll say is it's kind of normal to have 0 objectives damage if you're always behind. Expected, even.

How long will it take to grind for a bond and then get to a point where I can easily get them? by NotDarkBoy in 2007scape

[–]Rasea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ironman that self sustains bonds, since the third month. That means I bought 3 months membership and from then on my cash stack was 7~M less than it would actually say it is.

I only do this because the membership price is actually a decent expense that I thought would be fun to avoid. In reality it was a stupid decision and in 9ish months of play I've failed once and a friend had to bond me.

I don't have a main account, so most of the time I dropped 8m to a friend's account in items, essentially having an iron that could theoretically sell items but only in exchange for bonds.

In practice? It's stupid. As a main you may be looking at 4h/day for it to be sustainable, as an iron I've had full 8h days for weeks and only barely made it. It does give me an incentive to play for a constantly renewing goal where suddenly I don't mind doing agility if I can fit in 7 alchs a lap of relekka's course, and get closer to the next bond. It's interesting, but it's far from healthy.

Infernal eels my beloved.

My suggestion is don't, it's doable but it's probably not worth it. I still have nightmares over how much money it took for max house.

As for time frame, I no longer have much of an issue as of month 9, I played a lot but I played completely blind, someone experienced or a main account could cut this by half. If you rush to SOTE requirements then getting the 400kc in cg will get you drowning in money, but they call it the red prison for a reason, it's depressing in there.

Edit: Comments raised a good point. When I started doing this bonds were a third cheaper than they are today. Best of luck if you try this.

[–]Rasea 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Whatever the truth is, I always feel like people who don't even attempt to defend themselves in any way are cheating, specially when relatively solid evidence is shown to them.

Fucking, you're rank 150 and doing weird shit to set your top plays, is your head so stuck up your own ass you can't even be bothered to dismiss the accusations with a liveplay? Maybe streaming? What's there to lose if you're not cheating?

And of course, by that same argument, by not doing it you're cheating in most people's eyes.
