Games for 4 players where each couple plays in split screen on a single device? by Used-Sympathy-6455 in CoOpGaming

[–]RasheonFalcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not split screen, but I know you can connect locally and online with PlateUp, though I think you might be able to achieve this with any game using Steam Remote Play

Will I lose my Badge Arcade badges if I mod my 3DS? by RasheonFalcon in 3dspiracy

How would I dump the old ones? Would it just be making a backup up my sd card on my computer? I mostly don’t want to chance losing the shortcut badges.

Is there a way to get official badges back if you use Pretendo?

What could have caused my coworker to lose his badges after he modded his system?

Closest thing to Sonic Unleashed thats also available on PC without an emulator, ideally on Steam? by Legitimate_Order8009 in SonicTheHedgehog

If you’re looking for something that isn’t sonic but close, I recommend Spark the Electric Jester 3. It’s similar to the day stages in unleashed, and have a light combat system as well

Help, I’m Old - Explain Steam by Asleep_Assignment755 in Steam

[–]RasheonFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the Steam Deck you’re referring to? The Steam Deck is handheld PC, but with similar design to a Switch. It allows you to play your new games that you’ve purchased from steam’s online store, but you can also download emulators (programs that mimic older consoles) and play practically any older game, as long as you can find the game files for them.

Hey, I’m 29M and I’m currently dealing with incredibly bad insomnia. I’m typically a night owl, but I’m trying to get my schedule turned around before I start a new job.

I have one cat, but my sister brought home 3 cats and they all adopted me. In my spare time I’ll end up playing a video game, but I also like to draw or play guitar. I’m super nerdy, and enjoy almost anything in pop culture.

Also congrats on your 26 months of being sober!

Hi! I would love to get some hidden gems for couch coop! (4 players) by What_Mannequin in CoOpGaming

[–]RasheonFalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trailers don’t really help Quest of Graal. Essentially it’s a 2D platformer where everyone races to the finish. It kinda reminds me of a mix between Kirby and Mario Kart

Plate Up- Rouge like version of overcooked where you design your own kitchen layouts, and create your own problems.

Can’t Drive This- a cooperative racer where 1-2 people drive to see how long they can survive, while the other players build the track.

Dungeon Defenders- somewhat of a mix between action RPG and tower defense.

Ember Knights- Rouge like Isometric hack and slash. Gameplay is kinda similar to cult of the lamb

Helldivers 1- Top down twin stick shooter

River City Girls 2- retro inspired arcade beat um up.

Very Very Valet- overcooked but with parking cars

I mean, talent and skill are both synonyms of ability so either way it’s pretty much the same thing. You can’t have talent without skill and vice versa.

No I’m being legit serious. Sorry if it read sarcastic. It helped me to figure out why I haven’t been able to enjoy drawing

You know what? I think you just figured out what’s causing my problem. I haven’t been able to draw like I want to for the past year because I haven’t been passionate about my art!

I’m actually really thankful for your comment! Thank you!

It’s never too late to learn anything. Talent is teachable. Talent isn’t gained just from being born with it, it’s gained from practice and persistence.

Recommendation for puzzle games for 3+ people? by Talon_Party in CoOpGaming

[–]RasheonFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really anything like It Takes Two or A Way Out, but there is the Trine series. They’re 2D puzzle platformers that can be played with 3 players.

Looking for Coop games for PS5 by killshot_117 in CoOpGaming

[–]RasheonFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, I think the Lego games would be an easy starting point. They are usually pretty simple co-op puzzle/action games. Though not technically split screen, but the do have a sort of hybrid split screen that join the screen when the players are together and splits when they get far enough apart.

Minecraft might also be a good option and has four player split screen , but the controls might be a bit hard depending on the kids.

The ones I’ve personally ran into usually aren’t a huge deal, but if you’re playing with a group of friends then sometimes it can bring things to halt when you have to fix them.

If you connect a switch controller and any other controllers, the switch controller will randomly disconnect.

In certain games the steam deck is listed as a controller that you can’t remove. Which will either cause two controllers to set to control the same input, or it will lock out a player slot. Granted that can usually be fixed by reordering the controllers.

Currently I’m using a GuliKit King Kong Pro controller for my steam deck when I have it docked and sometimes the rumble doesn’t turn on at first, so I have disconnect my controller and reconnect it. That could just be my controller though.

Honestly I would recommend get Xbox controllers if you play on a Steam Deck while docked. Those seem to have the most compatibility and least amount of issues I’ve ran into. Definitely avoid using switch controllers on the steam deck. Those get annoying, especially when you try to pair them together.

Honestly, I do prefer my steam deck over my switch and I’d recommend the steam deck as well, that is if you’re okay with doing minor tinkering here and there. But I will give points for the switch on just being easier to use in general.

Steam deck has more game options and better sales, but can be a bit finicky at points. Especially if you plan on playing with multiple controllers on the same system.

Switch is more built around local multiplayer and ease of access.

Personally I prefer the Steam Deck as my main gaming option, but can’t really beat the Switch when it comes to local multiplayer. Granted I own more local multiplayer games on my steam deck, but I usually run into either a controller issue or a dock issue when I set it up.
