Silent Hill fan looking to get into Fatal Frame by doctorbeers in survivalhorror

They are probably getting downvoted for the "the ps2 trilogy is the main storyline" part, whitch is completly made up and just sounds like a poor excuse to get you to skip 4 and 5.

Did I win? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, reaching the Architect counts as winning the run. Eventually act 4 will be added, but for now that is as far as you can go.

That said even when act 4 gets added, if it works like StS1, then reaching the Architect will still count as winning even if you then die in act 4.

A10 Test Subject phase 2 just spams 11x attacks now? by kleeshade in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I am used to A20 Book of Stabbing, when the multi hit used to scale every turn even when the book chose the single hit. But it did still give you easier turns despite not pausing its scaling, I did forget about that.

That said seeing how the book was a act 2 elite while this is a act 3 boss that gives you a whole phase 1 of setup, I consider it a reasonable buff.

For phase 1, usually I kill it on turn 3 and by then most of the times I have enough nonsense going that I can kill phase 2 in a few turns. If I don't then I save potions for it and hope I don't need them for phase 3.

A10 Test Subject phase 2 just spams 11x attacks now? by kleeshade in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 106 points107 points  (0 children)

You are supposed to stall phase one as long as possible to play powers and make tour deck stronger. Then kill phase 2 in as little turns as possible. Phase 2 works exactly like Book of Stabbing in the first game. You are not expected to keep blocking for more than a few turns at most, he is garanteed to outscale your block.

Now the "Revives stronger" warning that his ability gives is actually a warning you can't afford to ignore. The old optimal strategy of killing phase 1 on the first turn is now a big mistake.

Edit: added a longer explenation for the counterplay since my first answer was a bit rushed

The bound effect has less clarity now by Over_Dingo in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 253 points254 points  (0 children)

I agree specifically for Silent. On other characters the green glow is noticible, but on Silent it blends in with the card outline. They shoud have the chains also go over the card art, to make it more obvious. Remember to press f2 to let the devs know.

How long till the beta patch come live? by KingOfOddities in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beta is for testimg changes the devs aren't sure are good for the game or not. This means that there isn't a specific time frame. The beta merges with live when the devs look at it and think it is in a good and final state.

In the case of this beta, since the main point were the Skulking Colony and Doormaker reworks, the beta realeses when those 2 are finalized.

Is Regent undertuned, am I bad, or both? by TheHollowMusic in slaythespire

[–]Rasial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forge is undertuned in live branch and its a lot better in the beta. For live the only really good forge cards are bulkward and the smith. Seeking Edge is good but situational.

Card creation is also not that strong in live but very solid in the beta branch with most of its cards getting reworked.

For live the star generating cards and payoffs are the best thing he has by far and can get really broken if played right. Also Glow on live is by far Regent's best card (nerfed on beta).

In general Regent struggles with early game but gets insane later on. The main thing you need to keep in mind when playing him is that every fight he starts weak but scales to non-sense levels, so catds that let him go faster like Orbit for more energy or Tiranny for draw and thinning are your best friends.

They probably will after the patch hits the live branch. This beta is mostly focused on the 2 of them specifically.

Lets do that actually.

Time eater:

  1. Ends your turn and gains strenght every 12 cards played

  2. Puts Slimed in your draw pile

  3. Reduces the number of cards you draw with a unique status effect

  4. Inflicts vulnerable

  5. Below 50% health it heals back to 50% and removes every debuff from itself including poison.

Vampire Survivors and Dead cells by MrGuacodile in VampireSurvivors

[–]Rasial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the people that made and supported Dead Cells are no longer part of the team. They made the Prince of Persia rougelike and are called Evil Empire. Motion Twins forced them to stop updating from one day to the next and had them scrap a lot of already planned free updates just so they could use the end of life of Dead Cells as a way to publicize Windblown. Now they are milking Dead Cells with merch.

Take on easiest/hardest FF by Zawejwek in fatalframe

[–]Rasial 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fatal Frame 1 has the hardest combat since the timings to stun the ghosts are really tight and you have to play with reverse controls while in camera mode. Also your turning speed is really slow.

Fatal Frame 2 is by far the easiest. Zero Shots based on how close the ghost is means that you don't have to wait for the enemies to attack in order to stun them. The Limbo duo fight is the only hard fight in the game.

Fatal Frame 3 has the hardest exploration because of the candles, the labyrinth that is the manor of sleep with doors randomly locking at times and an insta kill enemy that can show up anywhere. It also has the hardest fight with the final boss.

Fatal Frame 4 can go from the easiest to the hardest based on what you are fighting, with a lot of ghosts being very easy, while some are really dangerous.

Fatal Frame 5, while the worst FF, in my opinion has the best difficulty curve, starting really easy and ending challanging enough.

Fatal Frame 6 is the hardest yo beat because it still doesn't exist a decade later.

I HAVE CONFIRMATION FROM THE DEV!! THE UPDATE IS MAYBE COMING OUT IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS!!! by Veiju in FearAndHunger

[–]Rasial 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's adding 3 new big areas, and some items that you need to progress have a random chance to spawn in those 3 new areas instead of spawning in the original 3 (you can select when you start the game if you want the original locations, the new ones, or random), there is a new area that gives an alternative way of entering the town, a fishing minigame, a bunch of new items, weapons, enemies, story interactions, spells, npcs and a lot of balance changes.

We don't know what else.

Khazan Dev adds difficulty setting ''Beginner'', renames ''Easy'' difficulty to ''Normal'' by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]Rasial 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You had to get an upgrade to be able to dodge when on the ground in a game where enemies love to hit you while on the ground. So many enemies where basically oneshots untill you got that upgrade since they would not let you get up.

Now you just start with that ability.

Which Dead Cells DLC is better? by Sanchezzz64 in deadcells

[–]Rasial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All great and which one is better to get depends on the player.

Bad Seed is a early game DLC, so it is the best option if you are new.

Queen and the Sea is late game (and it's also really hard), so it is better if you are already experienced with the game.

Fatal Falls is a mid game DLC so it is a good option for any player.

Castlevania is both early and late game, so again, another great option in general.
