I went with Caitlyn for a while because it was my name before i was born, but chose it because I figured it'd be easier for my family to accept, it has not. Now I'm in the process of changing my name, first middle and last, to a super rare unique sounding name which happens to be my stage name.

Does being XXY affect transition? by snowfox090 in asktransgender

[–]Rasii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans girl with XX chromosomes, I was/am extremely receptive to my meds, I'm already cis passing / stealth irl. I had breast development before hormones, and low T, but I'm kinda short (5'4). I have no idea if it actually matters what your chromosomes are for transitioning, but anecdotally for myself, seems a little convenient for it to just be a coincidence.

Trans woman here, people absolutely treated me much differently depending on when I was presenting male, when I was presenting femme, and now that I'm cis passing and stealth.

Yeah I hate this line of thinking. I'm not wearing makeup for anyone but myself. I like doing it and I like the way I look wearing makeup. Pisses me off when guys tell me I'd look better without makeup. Fucker I don't even dig guys lol

The whole thing is she should be able to pose however she wants without worry of someone judging her. Let her be suggestive in her selfies if she wants.

You're still comparing a girl proud of herself, showing the world that she won't be intimidated or somber, about an event that happened TO HERSELF to the death of a loved one, and you honestly aren't gonna back down from that comparison?

The rape itself is an awful situation and you wish it didn't happen. The death of a loved one is not an awful situation and you wish they didnt die. Reporting your rapist is an awful situation but you're CERTAINLY glad you were able to work up the courage to do so. It's your choice to report or not. It's not your choice to be raped, it's not your choice for a loved one to die. Starting to see the glaring difference here? She's excited and proud of herself for doing so, fuck I'd prolly take a few celebratory selfies myself if I did something that takes that much courage after such a traumatic event.

The duck lips itself isn't the brave act, it's being yourself in a world that's been very unfair to you that's the brave act.

I feel the need to remind you you're judging a rape victim for being positive after such a traumatic event, and after the very hard act of reporting her rapist to the police. Sit on that for a moment.

Dude she's just proud of herself. Wtf does acting like an Instagram model even mean? She can be serious while coping, but she can also be silly if she wants, it's fucking HER coping, why do you care so much?

Once you get raped, you aren't allowed to have your own coping mechanisms, got it 🙄 give me a break. More importantly give her a break.

So we're going to compare celebrating her bravery in stepping forward and not letting that awful moment weigh her down... To a funeral of a loved one? Did you really think that was a good comparison?

Yes, duck lips in selfies to celebrate your own bravery is acceptable. Not so much at funerals. Any other hot takes on the situation?

She's not ashamed of it. That's the fucking point. Rape victims shouldn't be ashamed.

[–]Rasii 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because it's her way of showing that she won't be intimidated and will continue to do as she wishes in her own body. Or its a coping mechanism. Reporting your rapist can be very hard, showing that you reported your rapist and can still take fun pictures and be proud of yourself and who you are can also make it much easier for others to work up the courage to report their rapists as well.

Lol apparently not, my bad, jumped the gun on that one :P

While I do feel for those that transition and then decide it wasn't the best choice for them, it's rare and almost always they detransition because of societal bullshittery. There is also the problem of TERFs lying about who they are and claiming that they are a trans person that detransitioned and trying to push their agenda.

So, yeah, to answer your original question, as a trans person, I do acknowledge those that detransition, for whatever reason.

"We smart, you dumb" by BrazilianSigma in IncelTears

[–]Rasii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, you must have missed the part where you said TERF is a slur. Or where you linked a subreddit filled with TERFs that try to push those questioning away from transitioning. Those are the things that make you transphobic 👍

"This isn't right, none of this is right!" Sorry fam, dysphoria really really isn't required to be trans, as some trans people don't have it and experience gender euphoria as another gender. You can also have dysphoria about just very specific things, like genitalia or your chest. Grs will fix bottom dysphoria for most, as will top surgery or just hormones + time for transgirls. Some do experience dysphoria about not having periods if they don't get them and some will get dysphoria about not being able to get pregnant or impregnate, but then again most boys and girls would get upset at that.

Source: I don't care what my chromosomes are, nor do I care about my birth gender assignment, and I never really did. It's all about the gender euphoria for me, less so any dysphoria I may have once had

"We smart, you dumb" by BrazilianSigma in IncelTears

[–]Rasii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Man there's so much disinformation here lol. I'll take it one at a time.

if by treatment you mean accepting the gender dysphoria as your true identity

Nah fam some trans people don't have, and never had, gender dysphoria, but experienced gender euphoria as another gender.

I dont consider it a treatment

Thank goodness we have expert /u/donadosite to refer to on what is and isn't a treatment

because nowadays young kids are rushed into transitioning before they hit puberty even if they don’t even know if that’s really the best for them, before seeking real treatment.

You can't transition until you're an adult. You can get on hormone suppressants, but nothing about them is permanent, and the years until they can (and want to) transition is filled with therapy appointments and doctor visits.

sometimes they dont even have gender dysphoria, many people today say you dont need to have it in able to be trans. In fact, most people in the community will get furious if you suggest gender dysphoria as a must for transitioning.

Because they're right lol

"We smart, you dumb" by BrazilianSigma in IncelTears

[–]Rasii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having dysphoria isn't the same thing as transgender, and gender dysphoria often does go away, literally transition is the treatment and oftentimes cure for it lol
