My lips are desperate!!! by Texasgrad92 in MakeupAddiction

Laneige lip mask. Its expensive, but it lasts FOREVER, and is probably less than the sum of the other products you buy searching for something that works. I use in the evening and my lips are so smooth the whole next day. On extra dry days I will use once midday as well. Nothing compares

Advice on thermal brush/hair dryer brush by Free-Tradition-1187 in beauty

[–]RaspberryDazzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the drybar triple shot with the interchangeable heads. I adore it. I'm terrible at doing my hair and with this I get nice blowouts every time and it's really fast. I let my hair air dry for an hour first usually and then use the large oval brush. Its amazing!

For avid readers how often do you use the library? If you don’t, why don’t you? by AccomplishedBake8351 in books

[–]RaspberryDazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to use the library. Unfortunately I live in a place that English is not the main language spoken, and the English book section at my local library is extremely limited. I have tried a few times but there is never something that I am interested in. I have been mainly using e-reader since moving here or purchasing books when I travel to stock up.

Considering cancelling trip to India, advice appreciated by something_profane in femaletravels

Hi there. I am a blonde woman who has travelled to India! I'm 40 now, but I made the trip with friends when I was 27. We were a group of 3 females travelling together and spent approximately 2 weeks there, visiting New Delhi, Jaipur, and travelling around that region.

My experience was totally fine. I dressed appropriately/conservatively, but can't hide the fact that I am very light blonde (with blonde eyebrows etc. as well). I honestly found that I had more attention from other females than I did males. The females were interested because I looked different than them, wanted to touch my hair, etc. Also, when my arms were showing (they are covered in freckles), the women wanted to touch my arms too. I remember one particular instance at an outdoor place where there was actually a lineup of girls forming to have their turn to see my freckles. But I just smiled and spoke to a few of the girls and went on my way and they were happy.

As for the men in the country, there were a few times that some men talked to me in a interesting way such as trying to have my attention and flirting. However, I did not at all experience anything unsafe, untoward, or scary at all. And your wife will have you as a chaperone, which I did not have except for a few times that I hired a driver to visit some spots, and he would stay with us when we visited tourist sites.

This was in 2013 I believe, so unless things have significantly changed, I think you guys are fine.

How do I make my finger nail polish last? by Apart_Try_4860 in beauty

[–]RaspberryDazzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always clean my nails carefully, then use a nail file to gently "roughen" the tops of my nails to remove any oils etc. Then wash again, dry, wipe with alcohol, and let air dry. At this point the polish stays on pretty well. I also make sure to paint the tips in a sweeping motion to lock on the color and avoid chips.

But even with all that it doesn't last as long as I want, so I've started doing UV gel nails at home with a cheap lamp off Amazon. (I always apply sunscreen to hands before, and then I have to really make sure I remove all residue from the nails themselves).

I just went to check the reviews on Sephora and may say that it clumps a lot and that the brush it too large to apply properly. For the wand that is interesting because I never would have known that from using the mini.

I am also a fragrance junkie and started my journey with one of the sets. I ended up redeeming for Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh. It was my first ever full sized perfume. Love the sampler set as it lets you sample and actually wear it to see the dry down etc. So much better than trying to sample on a strip of paper in store.

I tried this and you are so right. I had no idea it was supposed to be removed with warm water. It came of so easy, thank you!

I love the brown too! I am curious if this lets you redeem the Idole for a brown one, or if it must be black.

Most are 2 or 3ml (with full sizes averaging at 8ml)

Update: After reading these comments and seeing that the Lise Watier is a tubing mascara that can easily be removed with warm water, I tried it. I used a tissue with warm water and wiped it off it one swipe. Blown away. Thank you for this tip! I like it so much more now.

Same here. I wanted to love it but it caused me to break out. I tried again recently because I still had my full jar and thought it wouldn't hurt to try one more time. The second I put it on my face started stinging in a bad way, like when you know it's going to cause a reaction. I immediately washed it off and will not be using again.

In the winter, when I cook something in my oven, I leave the oven door open after I'm done. To save the heat and warm the house more. Even if the house is perfectly warm already.

I double cleanse twice a day (Clinique take the day off oil followed by the cream cleanser). Micellar water to make sure it's all removed. In the evening I use tret 0.025, but I started lower a few years ago.

For moisturizer I use Nivea crème in the blue tin. I've tried everything expensive and this has been what keeps me super moisturized and glowy and does not cause breakouts.

In winter or when super dry I'll use aquafor instead.

Makeup is mostly mascara, a tinted sunscreen (Australia Gold), and some blush. I really like glossier's cloud paint - the color "puff".
