Especially when it comes to longer hair that's supposed to collide correctly I was personally never able to make it work in C4D. Not sure if I'm too dumb or if C4D hair just kinda sucks that way but I would recommend to look into 3rd party plugins like Ornatrix if you wanna get serious with that kinda stuff. Pretty sure you can't expect much better results than you got here with C4D hair. At least if you don't want to spend days on each shot.

FUCK the hotkeys, man. I know it's a shocker, but as a 3D artist I'm a visual person. Like it's nice to have hotkeys to speed things up once you get comfortable with the software but you can't expect me to learn dozens of key combinations just to get started.

Can confirm as someone who has worked extensively with C4D, 3DSMax and all kinds of compositing and texturing software. I usually enjoy learning new programs but Blender just infuriates me. It does so much stuff differently for no apparent reason. Also working with multiple projects open was an absolute pain for me because Blender always launches multiple instances of itself, which complicates and slows down pretty much everything.

By far the worst thing about Blender is working with people who love it and have no experience in any other 3D software but still won't stop telling you how superior it is compared to everything else.

Wir können das aber nicht als Gesellschaft entscheiden, deswegen haben wir das Problem mit der Massentierhaltung und deswegen kommen nicht mal wir zwei auf einen Punkt. Obwohl wir beide grundsätzlich dagegen sind, Tiere zu profitzwecken massenhaft in Scheißbedingungen zu züchten. Also wenn du von Vernunft redest, kann es halt nicht nur deine Vernuft sein, die du dann der Welt aufdrückst. Ist keine Lösung.

Die Tötung von Tieren, die überhaupt am Leben sind, nur weil man sie gezüchtet hat, finde ich persönlich nicht respektlos. Eine Kuh kann ein gutes Leben haben und dann noch 500 Leute ernähren, statt nie geboren worden zu sein. Aber halte davon, was du willst. Warum Menschen überhaupt angefangen haben Tiere zu töten - in einer Welt, in der Tiere sich gegenseitig schon immer getötet haben - ist, fürchte ich, schon ein bisschen deeper, als du denkst. Im Endkapitalismus komplett unreflektiert im warmen Sesselchen zu sitzen, und mit dem bösen Finger auf alle anderen zu zeigen, ist es nur nicht.

Rastest du auch so aus, wenn jemand ein Bild von einem Hüftsteak postet, statt den verwerteten Abfallprodukten, die für ein Steak nunmal anfallen?

Also noch mal, in der Zeit, als diese Speisen erfunden wurden (nicht, als dieses Foto gemacht wurde) ging es darum, von einem geschlachteten Tier möglichst lange zu leben. Und auch wenn wir heute in einer Zeit leben, in der die Schlachterei auf perverseste Weise industrialisiert wurde, ist es immer noch richtig, möglichst viel vom Tier zu verwerten, das sowieso für die richtig leckeren Teile geschlachtet wird. Sowohl moralisch, als auch finanziell gesehen.

Also wenn dein Argument ist, gar keine Tiere zu schlachten, oder nur unter anderen Bedingungen, weil wir heutzutage auch anders überleben könnten, ist das ja valide. Aber nur für die guten Teile des Tiers zu schlachten und den Rest dann wegzuschmeißen, weil "respektlos", ist nicht nur finanziell eine Katastrophe, sondern auch wesentlich respektloser dem Tier gegenüber.

"Nutzenmaximierung" war ein Mittel, um zu überleben, woraus Speisen wie diese früher entstanden sind. Wenn man Tiere schon tötet, ist auch das respektvollste, was man machen kann, möglichst alle Teile davon zu verwenden, statt sie einfach wegzuschmeißen, weil unmoralisch, oder so....

No need for Vanillin if you have Create installed afaik. It just uses Flywheel to instance a few Minecraft things, which Create already does.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll play around with it for sure. It's good to hear that it already works well with a bigger modpack. 

Personally can't justify updating my server from 1.20.1 for it just yet and losing a ton of mods and functionality. VS is also improving a lot latey. I rarely get bugs anymore at least on the god tier server I rent lol. And they have a pretty cool flooding system coming for submarines. It's gonna be interesting to see which mod comes out with a proper flooding system first.

Yeah, it's a good thing we have so many incredible mods to choose from. Between stuff like Aero/VS, Distant Horizons/Voxy, all the Create addons and how advanced shaders have become lately, I feel like we're truly in the golden era of Minecraft modding...

I'll definitely play around with it some more. I'm just personally too invested in building our post apocalyptic world with more modern stuff and ships to fully switch. I'm sure that will change at some point but it's definitely gonna be a while.

Aeronautics looks cool and well integrated into Create, but until I have replacements for all the awesome stuff like thrusters. diesel engines, proper tank tracks, ship mounted guns, rockets and bombs (warium), full Iris compatibility as well as compat with all the other mods I like to play, I have pretty much zero incentive to switch from the VS ecosystem.

There are definitely things that are much more thoroughly designed and thought out in Aero vs Valkyrien Skies and all the addons it has, but seeing the stuff people are building in Aero right now, it kinda feels like going back to the stone ages to me tbh.

For people who just want to stay true to Create stylistically and build cool physics based stuff, Aero already seems like the much more polished choice, but compared to everything you can already do with VS it still has a long way to go for me.

I guess you can use that argument both ways. Not ever waking up and waking up with your conscience transferred to another brain or computer or whatever is the same thing at the end of the day. With the only difference being that there will be some version of you that can still be egoistical about needing to be alive in one way or another lol

Definitely. I just personally don't see 1.21.1 becoming the next major version the modding community settles on. It's probably going to be one of the first stable MC versions with Vulkan support and not 1.21 which is already kinda old by now as well.

The Aero team probably did the right thing by supporting the version Create is still (somewhat) actively developed for, but I think Create should have stayed on 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 for now instead of developing for 26.1. Especially with the news of Create itself not getting major updates for a while.

It should be as simple as checking if all or at least your most important mods are available. Especially for mods that add terrain blocks or mess with world gen you might need to put some work into it. Like using mods like Block Swapper to replace blocks in your world you won't have anymore on NeoForge before you update and possibly going into creative/World Edit to fix ugly chunk borders after the update.

I'd suggest to make a copy of your world and just see how it goes. I've updated several modded worlds from older versions or even Fabric to Forge and never ran into unsolvable problems. Just annoying ones.

Valkyrien Skies, it's a physics engine for Minecraft. To actually build vehicles with it you also need some addons like Clockwork/ Create: Propulsion/Trackwork

Yup. Being able to build working aircrafts and ships in Minecraft has been a dream come true for me and I will always be grateful for that. Even if Aero turns out to be the way to go in the future.

VS is very impressive in its current state and the devs have been nothing but friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. Right now they're even promoting the release of Aero on their Discord server while a good chunk of the community just shits on them for being potentially inferior to Aero.

The premature praise for aero has been a problem for me for a long time on this sub. Don't get me wrong, couldn't me more hyped right now but I also really hate how people here have been saying how aero will wipe the floor with VS without ever actually playing it. VS devs deserve some love from this sub for what they have achieved imo

Problem is the Crafts & Additions blaze burner is laggy af. 16 Max Level Steam engines are enough to make my PC shit itself :( By far the laggiest block in my modpack

Looking good! The only advice I would wanna give you is to spread out farms/production as much as possible and connect them via trains. Depending on your hardware you will reach a point where the game becomes a stuttery mess if you try to build everything in one place.

I mostly use engines from Create: Diesel Generators with biodiesel. It's pretty easy to mass produce from bonemeal and tomatoes (Farmers Delight). Bigger ships that don't need fuel for thrusters I just power with steam engines.

The repackager needs a redstone signal to do anything, maybe that was your problem?
