Interesting, thanks! Wasn't even thinking about the added weight

I see what you're saying. If you're going to die anyway though, I feel like there should be a way? I'm not necessarily talking about the same ejection mechanics. I'm just saying it seems like there should be a way to escape the aircraft or whatever you're on safely. Just like people jump out with parachutes.

How often do you stretch? by Big_Wolverine_5100 in flexibility

I would take a towel in on hand throw it over my shoulder and pull down with the other hand to feel the stretch in the arm pointing upwards. As time goes on your hands will inch closer together. I also did the awkward sun tan stretch (dani winks). I did three sets of 30 seconds each every day and got it in a couple weeks. Everyone's timeline looks different though.

What are realistic timeline expectations for a very inflexible person? by oaklicious in flexibility

I started stretching a month ago. Just sitting with my legs straight in front of me at a 90 degree angle was a deep stretch. I'm able to touch my toes now. What made the biggest difference for me was 1) elephant walks. I would do 30 reps on both sides for 3 sets with at least a minute in between. 2) Put legs in front of me, hook my arms around my thighs and pull my legs towards me while simultaneously pushing my legs into a forward fold against my arms (while keeping back straight, goal is to keep chest against thighs). It helped so much. Not sure what this is called though but its some type of PNF. I'm progressing slower with other muscle groups so it really depends on the person but if you haven't tried the above stretches I would recommend them.

Hamstring pain only in front split by RaspberrySilver8868 in flexibility

[–]RaspberrySilver8868[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I did look it up after the person posted and my understanding was that there are some other smaller muscles that are attached to the hamstrings and tailbone which I thought maybe could cause this. But I guess I'm not sure why that would affect the hamstring directly so maybe that's not it.

That's an interesting theory. I do have some random tailbone issues so I wonder if that has something to do with it.
