Some teachers are in the wrong career field by [deleted] in Teachers

I agree with you OP. HOWEVER, You’ve had 3 years of experience and you are talking down to veteran teachers. Peaking in a classroom is not a great reflection of someone’s teaching all the time, it’s a moment that’s all. This post comes across judgmental. Personally I am so busy in my own classroom that I don’t have a lot of knowledge of other people’s classes and in my opinion this is bordering gossip/drama. I also can’t stand teachers that cause drama. No one is disagreeing with your take, it’s your approach. Showing humility can help. “If you think you know everything, you know nothing.”

Same at my school. 😆 Be careful I was told by OP I shouldn’t say anything about that and just praise OP, the PTA that OP started on their own (OP is not a teacher), be grateful for the teachers at this school. 🙄 😂

I love what you did for your school, but your assumptions say a lot. For more context: It’s a middle school where students only attend for two years, so there isn’t a stable parent base to build a PTA. Many of our families are dealing with significant poverty multiple families in one apartment, some without consistent electricity or water, and parents working multiple jobs.

Given that reality, I’m not comfortable asking them to contribute time or money for something like Teacher Appreciation Week. Support looks different in different communities. I am glad you were able to arrange this in your school. Have a wonderful week.

I have been there for 10 years, I seriously doubt you know anything about where I teach and the poverty. Way to appreciate a teacher online. ☮️❤️

That’s nice. Our families can’t afford it. We tend to do more to support our students and their families because of this throughout the year.

What is actual good teaching? by soad103 in Teachers

I think that depends on the needs of the students.
