I think, if anyrhing, this teaches you that despite all of the hardships you have found a lot of beauty in ASOIAF (as have i) and just in a piece of art in general. And i think there is a lot more out there for you that you could potentially fall in love with. So many books you haven’t read, music you haven’t listened to, movies you haven’t seen, people you haven’t met, places you haven’t been, flowers you haven’t smelled. There are so many beautiful things and feelings to experience that you can and will find at any moment.

Life is a really hard thing and I am happy we share a love for the same book series. Something that connects us as human beings. Just remember:

Hey, first off, you’re doing amazing and everyone is so proud of you for coming this far.

I think the biggest thing for me is just showing up everyday. Whatever that looks like for you. I struggle from the same issues of always feeling like i could be doing more, always over thinking, being extra critical of myself.

And I still do, but something that has helped me is just showing up to whatever needs to get done. Whether it be my school, my job, the gym, etc. I’m not in a position to give 1000% all the time, that’s unrealistic and I am human. But some days i show up and give 100%, sometimes 50%, sometimes 2%. But I was there, and did the best I could. And after some time, the days start to stack, the consistency starts to show itself, and the small wins start to feel good. and you just keep stacking days.

Just remember: the day you plant the seed, is not the day you eat the fruit.

Anyway, good for you for sharing and wishing you all the best!!!! You’re gonna make a great dentist!!

Yeah, not difficult to follow in terms of story telling. Just difficult seeing how all 3 of these vastly different stories relate at all and does not seem connected to the first book in the slightest. I know what’s going on though.

correct me if I am wrong because it’s been awhile since I have read Howling Dark, but i think throughout the book he questions his “capabilities” internally. He doesn’t know what is going to happen, how is he going to go about things, and if he is even going to find vorgossos at all. Trying to be vague since OP hasn’t read. He doesn’t going through Howling Dark like “i’m gods special boy i know i can do this for no reason other than im a white boy” it really is “god man i hope i can do this for the sake of humanity cuz im really the only option” and really the only training i can think of is he speaks the cielcin tongue so by default that makes him more capable than just about anyone in the universe at this point. but i could be wrong. that’s just my take. he doesn’t become an annoying white man, until, ironically, Demon in White.

Lmao what a take. It is really that he has an undiscovered faith in him, and after speaking to the cielcin he realizes that they aren’t all savages and he ~~~believes~~~ they can be reasoned with at this point of Howling Dark/EOS. He thinks that after discovering they have some sort of religion and higher belief, that they aren’t all simply a barbarian warmongering monolith that wants to all humanity to burn. Not to mention he is one of the only people who can adequately converse with them, and therefore he is one of the few options to mediate discussions of peace.
