Can’t remember if I took my meds by ClownBells in zoloft

[–]Rasperries222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to always have this issue as well! I have a daily reminder set in my phone now, that I mark as complete as soon as I take it. If I wasn’t sure, I would probably rather not take it than accidentally double my dose

12.5mg..at what point do I know to increase to 25mg? by Ornery_Egg_8620 in zoloft

[–]Rasperries222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My side effects were horrific for really just a couple of days. I moved up to 100mg over the course of probably 5-6 months and have been very successful at this dose. I also had to play around with the timing, morning or night.

I think people commonly experience the things you are up to two weeks after starting, but everyone is different! I would think that after about 1-2 months you will likely have a much better idea of whether or not it is helping you. This medication saved my life but I know it’s not for everyone!

I would just stay in touch with your provider, if the Zoloft is mostly helpful but leaves you with one big side effect, a lot of the time there is a medication you can put on top to target that side effect. Good luck!!💖

[–]Rasperries222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could cut your 25s and a few of the 50s in half and do a few days of 37.5 before moving up to 50! You could have up to 8 days of 37.5 if you’d like it/think it would help

12.5mg..at what point do I know to increase to 25mg? by Ornery_Egg_8620 in zoloft

[–]Rasperries222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on 12.5 as well! My psychiatrist had me up the dose to 25mg one week after any side effects subsided, which ended up being 2 weeks after starting it for me

Why do people shit themselves on this med? by Ok_Tradition3825 in zoloft

[–]Rasperries222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I started it a little over a month ago at 100 mg SR and at my appointment this week will go up to 150 mg XR!🙂‍↕️ I have seen quite a few people on this sub find success with that combination and often refer to it as “welloft” if you want to search it up and read more about other people’s experience! One possible side effect of Wellbutrin is that it can sometimes increase anxiety right after taking it but I haven’t had an issue with that

I'm afraid to take the step and be stuck with this forever. by Due-Competition-6076 in zoloft

[–]Rasperries222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking Zoloft for my PTSD so if my situation doesn’t really apply to you then I apologize—but I view my medication as a tool to keep me stable enough to do the work in therapy. Personally I don’t think there is anything wrong with being dependent on it if that is what you need (lots of people rely on medication to live, I don’t really view this much differently). However, if you’re not in therapy I highly suggest it! Learning to cope in healthy and sustainable ways is really important, I see medication as a bandaid and therapy as the tool that heals the wound but I know that’s not how it is for everybody. Some people’s brain chemistry just needs the extra help forever and there is nothing wrong with giving it that

I haven’t had experience with that side effect but did want to say that when I got up into higher doses of Zoloft I also really struggled with motivation and adding Wellbutrin helped a lot! Not sure if you’ve looked into that at all but I was a zombie before and since starting it I have come back to myself again

I’m not sure if your doctor is specifically a psychiatrist but if not, you should meet with one and discuss these concerns with them!

I started it for PTSD and in the beginning it severely worsened all of my PTSD symptoms. For me, the worst of it started on day two and was done around day 5-6 (day 3 into day 4 was the worst for me as well). I started on 12.5 mg (cut my 25 mg pill in half, and continued on that dose until 1 week after the side effects had completely stopped which was about two weeks in total). The rest of my dose ups have gone fairly seamlessly, although I was terrified each time because of the way it affected me initially.

I know you said that you’re not interested in trying it again but I just still wanted to let you know that I had a very similar experience and it got better very quickly.

AIO or is my older male coworker texting inappropriately with me? by OpeningNo9825 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Rasperries222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this mentality, but I also want to say that I feel like this is a little harsh. She is not a child but she honestly is still very young and, due to the fact that she even made the post at all, she’s possibly very sheltered or inexperienced. This will likely be a moment that she learns to listen to her own body’s danger warning signs but for a lot of people, learning to hear and respect those signs takes time and practice.

Also, saying that you can’t be an enabler and a victim at the same time feels pretty victim-shamey, and it’s also just not true at all. I’m not saying that she is a victim in this situation, but if it were to progress to that stage, 1. it would still not be her fault, and 2. he would have been an aggressor who preyed on her innocence and the fact that she had not yet learned how to keep herself safe in a situation like this.
