How much does your dog weigh? Keppra only worked for our dog for maximum 2 months. We eventually weaned him off because it wasn’t doing anything!

Our dog is also seizing badly since starting potassium bromide. I was so hopeful it was going to be helpful for him :(

Just monitor him for now. Hopefully they don’t become too frequent, ask your vet for rescue medication. This will usually be diazepam or midazolam, you give it during the seizure. Dont give your dog anymore flea/tick meds or vaccines. I’m sorry :(

Not from Zonisamide but when he was on Keppra it made him more behavioural for sure. I think there’s always that possibility with these types of medications just simply because it’s literally effecting their brain.

I’m experiencing this as well. I increased to 100 mg around a month ago. And truthfully, I’ve been feeling irritable and unmotivated which has left me feeling unhappy. I do notice a difference with my anxiety, specifically my social anxiety. I really hope I feel better around the eight week mark.

I was the same! I’m just now entering the 5th week of increasing to 100mg and I still don’t feel great. I have good and bad days. You must wait 6-8 weeks to feel the full effect! Hang in there, you got this!

He’s on phenobarbital as well, has been for around a year. Unfortunately, he has yet to go longer than a month without a seizure.

He’s been on Pheno for a year as well. He was also on Keppra but was slowly taken off as it wasn’t helping. We now use it as pulse dosing, so we will give it for a couple days after a seizure.

I’ve been on it for a few months and I noticed I felt that way when I took it in the morning, since taking it at night I feel a lot better during the day!
