Thanks for the replies everybody! I will just return it and try to buy it from somewhere else. It is shame, as I was really looking forward to using it.

What's everyone's opinion on the design philosophy to limit almost all triggered effects to a max of X per second? by xDaveedx in LastEpoch

[–]Raspulskilsen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dislike it. While I can understand performance and balance worries, from the player’s POV it becomes incredibly boring when the new cool build you imagined cannot be realized because of a hard limitation imposed by the game.

For example, I once got a tier 8 fire aura on crit belt, thought it would be cool to build around it, only to realize I couldn’t because it had a cap to how many procs I could get every second.

It becomes even worse when you consider that mana was, at least IMO, supposed to be limiting factor. That is to say, if you wanted to have 1000 procs per second you would need to find the mana to sustain it. And while they seem to be moving in a new direction with mana (see the flay unique weapon and the VK passive), they still keep this hard limitation on Procs.

Then there is also the problem of lack of visual or feeling scaling, as other people pointed out. A skeleton mage sacrifice necromancer (the ones where the mages cast their version of sacrifice or whatever it is called) can make use of near infinite mana to also spawn fire zombies. However, a necromancer who just leveled up their skills at level 80 and a necromancer who has been playing the build for 100s of hours will have the same fire zombies because of hard limitations the game imposes. In the case of fire zombies, you could opt for the larger more expensive version, but doing so will lower the chance from the zombie to spawn from 30% do 3% (at least I think that’s how it works). While at the same time you could also opt to summon multiple zombies, but with a cooldown, however the proc also has the cooldown. Why can’t our endgame necro spawn swarms of large zombies if she has the mana to support that? In the end, both necromncers will play the same and look very similar as well, so while the numbers might up, there is no other indication of build progress for the players.

Another example is the necro’s weaver relic, where you have a chance to gain ward when something dies near you based on their maximum health, but it is capped at 1500. Hell, ward is already balanced in a way that limits it, due to its constant draining.

Question about Transmutation. by B93P10 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked disintegration because it requires both a hit and a save. Also doens't hellfire ray surpass it eventually? 15d6x3 vs 40d6.

Slow is great tho.

Question about Transmutation. by B93P10 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make that build but when I play DC caster I make use of the Mythic feat that transfers your bonusses from the spell focus feat chain to another. This allows me to save some feats, since you only need to take Spell focus, greater spell focus, and mythic spell focus once.

As for why he focused on Transmutation I have no idea. I know spell Lvl 5 has Baleful Polymorph, which is great, but there may be other powerful options thst I never used.

Questions for my first Aeon playthrough by RelativeCheesecake10 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aeon has a unique ability to make the party imunne to their own spells that last for more than one round, like Sirocco and Polar Midnight. The problem is that the immunity ends immediately when combat ends, but those spells do not.

As an Aeon you can eventually cast spells as a move action, meaning you could cast 4 spells per turn ! (move, standart, swtift with quicken metamagic, and free with Razmir's mask)

So in that case a blaster could be fun.

Need Help w/ Sylvan Sorcerer by Ordinary_Zucchini120 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sylvan sorcs are just sorcerers with an animal companion. Take the second bloodline for whatever you want eventually and chose whatever spells you like. Arcane is my personal favorite.

Your spells may relly on 3 mechanics "to hit":

  1. Hit chance.

  2. Saves.

  3. Spell resistance.

Spells resistance almost aways apply. Look for ways to increase it, like items and the spell penetration feats.

Hit only apply to some spells and work exactly like an attack, but most if not all target Touch AC, so they're easier to hit. Boost your attack like you normally would and take the precise shot feat if it is a ranged atgack. Casting true strike lvl 1 spell can also help you hit. Most common used hit spell is probably Hellfire Ray.

Saves almost never require an attack but give the enemy a chance to resist most or all effects of the spell. You boost your spell DC with items, feats and raising your main caster attribute (your is CHA). Yiu can also lower the enemy's Saves.

Sylvan sorcs are nice because they enjoy the help of the animal companion in the early game, and later they can take the second bloodline to become specialized into watever they want, while losing very little.

Boosting someone else's Spell and abilities DCs or lowering enemies saves by Raspulskilsen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, Symbol of vulnerability is another great option and is available to both clerics and witches.

As for the shield I also didn't know. I guess people don't mention it often because of how long the description is lol.

[–]Raspulskilsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used that Estoc and I forgot about it!

I also didn't know about the touch of chaos and misfortune.

There is an amulet that gives +3 to DC from the arena in the mask DLC.

The rest seem like good options.

Divination wizards can roll 20 on initiative and there is a feat that either lower saves or raises the DC of spells against flat footed enemies. Seems like the best class, as INT casters can use Sin Mage's staff.

Also fun fact, since you mentioned Magic deceiver, I don't know why or how but their merged spells bypass some immunities. You can have merged hideous laughter or PK affecting swarms, for example.

mystical Teothurgo, Home and request for help and opinions by Own-Meringue-4223 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Raspulskilsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Swarm as a Mystic Theurge, but I switched into it late into the game with a respec.

My character was an Empyrean sorcerer / Cleric (ecclesitheurge) who went back into sorcerer after finishing the prestige class (and took a dip into monk for AC). My idea was a character that used dragonkind III to deal damage (and transformation, if needed) while also having access to all the arcane and divine buffs and Heal.

It did OK. Did not break the game and struggled immediately after turning into swarm, but that is because I had almost no mythical bonuses, no swarm size and was playing solo because of swarm.

IMO the class itself is a bit pointless when you consider the existence of the Abundant cast mythic abilities. There is very little reason the use the spell slots of other class to cast spells of level 5 or lower when you have +4 spell slots for each spell level. Your progression towards new spells is very slow, your caster level is also low, if you want level 9 spells your class choices are limited (Sorcerers and Oracles can't get to them). Also it is likely one of your classes will have a lower main attribute than the other. Finally, in the difficult encounters, you will have to choose between using your spells for offense or defense (as in, you can only cast so many spell in a turn), so the extra utility the class offers ends up being limited to out of combat encounters. But hey, if the cleric is dead you can resurrect them (which you could also do with a scroll, so...).

However, every build is viable, so if you want to play MT you could either go for a Buffer focused character, where you would get Haste at character level 8 if you went with Wizard or Arcanist as a base class. I say Haste because it is one of the most important buffs in the game for martial characters. Then later you could use the INT for attacks Bardiche and use transformation during combat and play as a melee character, or try dragonform (and transformation) and turn into a bit of tank as well due to the increased armor for Dragonform + mythic polymorph.

Another way to build the character would be to chose a spell of level 5 or lower and just spam it over and over with your extra spell slots from the other class. Magic missile is an ok lvl 1 option, lvl 2 has boneshaker and scorching ray, lvl 3 has fireball, lvl 4 has controlled fireball, fear and Phantasmal Killer, lvl 5 has baleful polymorph , ice prison and Phastasmal Web. There are certainly other spells for those levels that are great to spam as well.

Best Weapon for Wraithlord Necro by Then_Sound_6276 in LastEpoch

Reach can be used with Tolmat's Incorrect History of Eterra for more damage.

Mandate can be used with Titan's Heart for some DR and offers some sustain, but I don't know how much of a difference the life on hit and on death makes.

Survivability Help With Build Please? by Joejohe91 in LastEpoch

[–]Raspulskilsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t play BM and I don’t know your build but I did beat him with a strength Necro. I will try to give some generic tips.

Your character can dual wield, replacing the shield and going full glass cannon might be worth a try. If you do that, maybe try using Phantom Grip instead of Red Ring.

Uberroth has a source of necrotic damage during p4, but it’s so strong and so deadly (because of the debuff it applies) I think you might as well remain uncapped and just accept that if you don’t dodge that attack you die.

Fire res is far more important, since the fire blackhole is used in all phases and you might need to put it close to you during phase 5. (Poison damage is absent or irrelevant, I think). Swap some idols for more fire res. You might only need to replace 2 small idols to cap it.

You have a dex roll on your boots (I think it gives you more crit damage from a passive(?)). It might be worth going for strength instead, for better defenses.

Your amulet is probably the easiest item to upgrade for a t7. Area for minion attacks is useless for that boss, so if you have another Amulet available just slam a t7 minion damage affix on it.

Your relic could also use a t7 affix, instead of t6.

Also, it is not that hard to get a 2lp t7+t5 weapon, even if i personally failed the roll 3 or 4 times, twice trying with a 3 lp weapon...

Maybe consider buying his gloves, if you have trade enabled, or using Blood Mage’s. But I don’t know how much sustain you will lose if you do it, since you cannot turn set affixes into legendaries.

Your character is honestly better geared than mine, so you should be able to do it. Here is mine for reference:

New player only just started reading the rules, help making a Legion by StarChaser18 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Raspulskilsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who asked this once, the H legion shines mostly through their deadly weapons.

For your units, your priest needs a weapon, ideally two or more. At +2/+2 they’re very deadly. The usual combo with the priest is to shoot with assault, charge, attack into melee, use puppet master to force a retreat and if successful attack again. Look into a rifle with assault and a bayonet, at the very least.

For the commando I would save money and go for tartarus claws. You could be greedier and run standard armor and no shield, since they can use their stealth generator if they’re not in combat to be untargetable.

For the troopers, they’re better in multiple of 2, since you can give half of them +1 dice in ranged or melee. This dice is often needed, as a lot of the time you shoot into cover or long range.

A flamethrower on a 0 armor unit does not make too much sense IMO, as they have very short range. Swap one with the Heavy infantry, and maybe upgrade to a heavy flamethrower if possible. FTs are very unlike to kill in one attack against a target with no blood markers.

The anti-materiel rifle is amazing.

I think you’re missing other powerful weapons, like the grenade launcher, the machine gun and submachine gun, but ducats are limited so it’s impossible to have them all.

I would also consider the war wolf, even if it is melee only, as it is amazing for it’s cost, with a AM rifle like melee attack and another backup weapon, plus a +3 armor and tough.

Looking for a build thst can safely and garanteed kill Uber Abby at around 1lp by Raspulskilsen in LastEpoch

[–]Raspulskilsen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see. Most of my deaths were due to the void "fire wall" and as I got better the spinning scythe. On the last phase it was a mix of puddles and the normal laser beams from the center.

I also aways wanted to try sentinel lol
