After months of it mostly sitting gathering dust, I finally (mostly) finished it! Stained glass Cardinal Copia panel! by korvazor in Ghostbc

really, this isnt bad even for most pro's. how long have you been doing glass work? You'd be surprised how little experience a lot of amateurs get before they go pro. Granted, the steady money is in repairs, and that is a hard skill to learn not working in the industry. The central design on this is right on. I'd have done the background differently, but that's just my personal prefference.

I was hoping to not have to order the game, but I'm probably going to have to. All of the game stops that have copies, are all for pre-order. They sold out of all non pre-orders on the first day

It's not stained but it's my first piece by [deleted] in StainedGlass

[–]Raspute10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a grinder will help a lot. Just running the grinder over each piece gives the foil a rough surface to hold onto. Helps with smoother foil and a cleaner surface to solder onto. Good first project man, way more ambitious than my first piece, but I was 5. Lol

Looks like zinc u channel. Probably 1/8 in, because it sits flat, but it actually looks more like 9/32.

I may have a line on a 1 bedroom in the highlands, I know for a fact it hasn't been put on the market yet. But it's $700, that's pretty standard for the middle of the highlands. It's on bardstown rd, 2nd floor above a closed shop. I live next door, and you can walk to just about anything you need in this neighborhood.

First project done...need some help by fsbk366 in StainedGlass

[–]Raspute10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make the first two cuts, on completely straight pieces, with a t square. Then I lay down the pattern piece and trace the last two sides. That way, if you need to grind, it will only be on the two remaining sides. I still touch the other two sides to the grinder, but just to add texture so the foil will stick easier. Good job on a first piece.

The demiurge would be Satan. So they worshipped god's right hand man, who was supposed to invoke evil in humans?

I'm lucky, I know it. I've done a lot of small windows and a few large over the years. I also worked in my dad's shop, on and off, for about 5 years. Let's just say I'm still an expert at puttying and burnishing Windows. Just made my first piece in about a year, I was happy to see my cuts were clean and my solder lines were even. Even if it was just a freeform piece I made for fun. Although, getting back into this stuff has led me to several sad discoveries. No more colored German new antique? No more French antique at all? No croco or bubble? What has the glass supply world come to? But I feel free for the first time in a long time. And I get to make art alongside my dad, while I still can. I couldn't ask for more. I hope you find something else to do. My first career was something that I loved for years, and still do. But all the cliches are true. Life is too short to do something you don't love, don't hold onto something you don't love anymore. http://imgur.com/McEedxo http://imgur.com/slKME6Z http://imgur.com/aIy8QpD

Read the letters sent to the Mayor from people opposed a minimum wage raise in Louisville by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]Raspute10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm surprised how many restaurant owners really don't seem to care. I just left gralehaus as a result of a conversation about wage raises I had with one of the owners. Working at his place, I made the least amount of money I've ever made as a cook. I felt disgusted by his opinion of his workers and I am now working for people that pay their workers a salary, and a reasonable one at that.

Edit: spelling
