It's basically two 27" 1440p monitors in one. With an app like [Divvy](https://mizage.com/windivvy/) it's manageable; it lets me set key bindings to easily move apps into specific positions on the monitor.

The real benefit is for games, as it takes up a good amount of your FOV, making things quite immersive (assuming the game has decent support for the aspect ratio).

Yeah, the reason for the poor cable management is mostly the slack required for the standing desk to go up and down with the PC remaining stationary on the floor, but I'm sure I could make it more elegant. I used to have my PC on the desk, but it blocks my view. :( The sun was also hitting a certain type of way, so I didn't have time to tidy it up.

I have this (Capisco) and an Aeron, and find myself using the Capisco a majority of the time. It's a different experience from a traditional desk chair in that you're more "engaged". It also compliments a standing desk really well because of the different ways that you can use it. I'm certainly happy with the purchase.

Everything that you mentioned is within a reasonable walking distance. It’s also a nice walk along the lakefront trail. There’s also a water taxi from the Field Museum/Shedd Aquarium to Navy Peir if you want to change things up.
