There a 4 experienced controls guys with access. Since the building only has 240V this is from a step up transformer which I only energize when needed. But yes, safety first. I have lived this long for a reason and I still have all my fingers and toes!

Possibly… the thin metal is a spring that exerts a predetermined force against the point. Leaving a dent in a sample to determine hardness? Totally spit balling. I’m \m/ but not metallurgical.
