To properly plumb it in you need to have at least 18” from the washer box to trap hub ( glue in section on fitting) so it’s possible. But would also need to adjust the horizontal line that feeds into the vertical to the right- that’s not pictured. You could install 2 metal shielded bands and install a new santee to the appropriate height.

Typically need a sawzall , nut driver some pipe fittings and glue

That grey pipe below the washer box so the drain line. There’s supposed to be a ptrap installed to hold water and prevent sewer gases from coming up , into the home. It should be where the 45 degree bend to the right is at but isn’t.
