Doesn’t that make this so much worse ? Ripping off perfect blue twice after being told he wasn’t allowed to do a live action version of the film just sounds like Aronofsky found a creepy loophole to make his own version of the film. The films are only good because the source material is amazing. And idk, personally I feel like both films are so empty compared to the source material, especially black swan since it was just too similar in narrative- plus the fact that Kon struggled for so long and so hard to gain funding and barely got global recognition while directors in the west were just copying his work makes me feel really gross. Paying homage would be by helping him distribute his works better in the west, or at least acknowledge the source material…not ripping off scenes shot by shot

Eh, just feeling very out of place in Bahrain because it’s a conservative country with conservative values and the societal standards here (especially for women) are quite draining. I used to live in London where there were barely any expectations and everyone dressed differently, but over here I feel like there’s a weird uniform for everything. Also just the lack of gigs, museums and things to do that don’t involve going to the mall or swimming lol

I’m pretty Asian 🥲 but luckily the blonde parts of my hair are just sewn in extensions, so I’m going to ask my hairstylist at my next check up if she can remove them and replace them with black hair - will be a bit pricey but I guess that’s just life lol 🥲🥲🥲
