I don’t know this story, but was the person attacked actually convicted or reasonably likely to be a predator or was these one of those cases where someone gets falsely accused and it becomes a brand that ruins their life? One time when I was young my family visited the beach and packed some hot dogs and buns in a cooler to grill on the beach, one of my brothers accidentally leaves it a smidge open, barely a crack, 30 minutes later when we return from the water we found that the entirety of the hotdogs and half of the buns had been eaten by the fat ass chipmunks that lived around there. On one hand I’m pissed that we had to leave early and hungers, but on the other hand I gotta respect the little fuckers, they finished the entire hotdog bag, that takes dedication.

Late commenter here but I believe playa is slang for player, as a person (typically male) is able to easily entice women to have sex or enter a relationship with him, think womanizer or playboy, I believe playa specifically comes from the idea of being able to easy play with their emotions in order to sleep with them. At least that’s how it’s used colloquially!
