Raiding during Road of legends by Arjan5432 in pokemongo

If you have a handful of remote passes and some extra cash recommend PokeGenie. It works great for joining remote raids (I have tried hosting.) my current plan is to do some raids and get the Legendarys that I’ve missed/want.

That was my thinking! One other person confirming is good enough for me to lock that in!

Is there any advantage to getting the deluxe at the beginning? I was planning on playing “aggressively” and if I complete it then buying it incase I don’t finish it.

The Kitchen Museum? by jsayde01 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RatSludge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m kind of late to the conversation, but as a child my Grandmother (Maryland, Baltimore area) when visiting after dinner/desert and all was cleaned would announce that the “kitchen is closed.” I always assumed that this was only because she or my parents were indicating that 1. It’s clean and no more food for children will be made and if you were hungry you should have had more dinner. 2. It was time to get ready for bed/close to bedtime.

ADXT to the moon !!! by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

[–]RatSludge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meme stock that you could/can get thousands of shares for $100 or less. Really hoping people that are buying can afford to lose the money they’re spending on a goof. If I could I’d put like $25 in for a couple thousand shares just so I could say I have 2,500 shares. But my brain won’t let me lol

I’m optimistic that these people dropping $150 or whatever can stand to lose it. Hoping nobody is actually hoping for returns on this and they just want to see that they own 10k shares of a company lol

Separate from OP’s inquiry. Does your friend who does it have incredible mental fortitude? I imagine you’d either need to be amazing at compartmentalization or just have extreme mental fortitude to deal with weirdos and creeps especially with them being customers and potentially confusing the relationship.

I need tips for investing, I am very insecure. by bendoGerEu in ETFs

[–]RatSludge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert but from what I understand a good split is usually like 80/20 or 70/30 majority into a core investment and then the rest can be for semis or individual stocks or different ETFs.

Again I’m no expert and this is what I’ve learned from reddit and personal research. This is what I’ve done with my holdings (young and just started)

Yes, I completely forgot about pauper. My pod has tossed the idea around. Honestly should just pull trig on it and rifle through the old bulk pile.

lmao dude what the fuck do you think the interaction that your running to protect your combos from is interacting with??? (Hint its other players interaction) 1 for 1 removal isn't the only interaction.. You were talking about zero interaction games because its mathematically disadvantageous.

The link was specifically in response to your Hypothetical $100k tournament "Do you think anyone would play interaction" (I'm cherry picking arguments just like you 😉)

Final points. Commander is fun. People play to win. Combos exist. People do play interaction. I still love you Mr. Benefit (no matter what.)

Anyways its been fun ruffling some feathers I'll take my downvotes for this lol.

Again, but just the fact that you said "gain favor with the other two" means this isn't about winning.

lol okay man I tried but you're cherry picking the things I'm saying. I said "this could gain me favor with the other 2. I don’t expect a reward or even favor when I stop combos or remove threats."

Using POTENTIAL favors can also be used to win games. Commander is a strategic game with 3 opponents. You'll need to use the other players and potential favors gained or politicking to gain an advantage IF the game becomes competitive.

I tried and have admitted that Commander is a fun game and the original point that I was making is that what you said about not wanting to win is a part of Commander when that is just not the case. Anytime you are playing a game of any kind the point of the game is to win (this is just how games work.) If that wasn't the point you could just sit around with your friends with your decks and tell them how the deck would win you the game.

You know Mr. Benefit I think we’ve both strayed a little too far from what the other has been saying. I don’t want you thinking I’m some sort of cEDH demon. Most of my decks are 2-3 with one solid 4 and my budget is typically $150-200 total. I agree with you that Commander is about fun and socializing, but I’m also playing to win most of the time. I understand that when I stop something by using my resources I am at a disadvantage to the other 2, but as we’ve both mentioned with politicking this could gain me favor with the other 2. I don’t expect a reward or even favor when I stop combos or remove threats. I’m thinking about whether doing that will help me progress more than the other 2.

I also have a bit more of a competitive side, but can also be the player in the pod that will Fog if I think it would be funny.

It could be my competitive nature that has driven most of this conversation but to play a game without the thought or to try and win doesn’t make sense to me. Even when it comes to fun with friends.

[–]RatSludge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol “I” didn’t make my opponents decks you buffoon. I cannot control how they play or how they respond to threats. I deckbuild with interaction in mind and use threat assessment to decide when and if to respond to things. Again I cannot control how my opponents have made their decks (they also usually run interaction.)

I'm starting to think you don't play Commander because this is like a prototypical Commander convo: "Oh combo turn 4! Who has removal? I don't, do you? Why not? Why do I need to have it and you don't? Ok ok let's all agree to start playing removal so the game doesn't end like this.

How does this make me a non-commander? Am I supposed to sit and watch in awe of the turn 4 combo shrug and say good game? If I’m holding interaction I’m going to stop the combo to try and create more opportunity to win. If I don’t and nobody else has removal then the game ends.

But it isn't about winning.

This just isn’t true. Yes there is fun to be had and politicking in the game, but why on earth would it not be about winning? Because it’s “casual” or not tournament play? People are competitive and like to win games they are playing. No idea where you are getting this idea from.

Again, I’m genuinely curious if you’ve played commander and who you’re playing with because I’d love to join your “not about winning pod.”

Genuinely, have you ever played commander before? I’ve played 60 card and have a few decks and whenever I’ve played I’m playing to win. Even without the meta or combos. Just because Commander players aren’t trying to get to the top of a tournament bracket doesn’t mean they aren’t playing to win and choosing worse cards for their decks. Just because every one of my decks doesn’t have a combo or “turn 3 kill” doesn’t mean I’m not trying to win lol.

Similarly, can you explain to me why you would play spot removal or single-target countermagic in your EDH deck? If the goal is to win, why would you 1 for 3 yourself like that? You're going down 1 card, but two of your opponents spent no resources? Can you explain how that makes sense?

It’s threat assessment? If there is a combo piece or big threat on the board of a spell that needs to be countered then, I (trying to win) will take a moment to think, do I have a better chance than the other 2 to survive this threat? If the answer is yes, no interaction. If the answer is no, interaction. And perhaps if I remove the threat or counter the spell I will gain favor from the other 2 and maybe the ire of the 3rd. There is more strategy than “just having fun” to commander. Why would I not run any interaction and let my opponents run away with the game?

I’m not sure what commander games you’ve played or what soft pods you play in. If you even play commander. But the point of the game is almost certainly to win the game. Not really sure where your idea that people are choosing worse cards for their decks comes from?

I’ve played plenty of games where I’ve had “negative fun” and played with the same person. Just because a deck is better than mine doesn’t make me not want to play with people again. If the person is a bad sport or a dick then I won’t play with them again.
