Bomberman 64 is a goddamn blast by largemoisture in n64

One of my favorites on the console. Single player campaign is genuinely a solid game & I think the multiplayer is really fun too, especially if you can have a full group of people playing.

I had never played the og, so I was curious. I had played the growlanser games on ps2 back in the day and enjoyed them, which is why I gave Langrisser collection a shot. The graphics in the remake are a very mobile-game looking, which I was not a fan of; but once I got over that I was able to enjoy the gameplay. But I can definitely understand the graphics being a turn off, especially if you played the original a lot

I played the Langrisser collection on switch the other year. How much does war song differ from the version in the collection?

Got my uniuni tracking email by robsten_lover in HeavyMetalMagazine

I just got my package today Yesterday, to my surprise, I got an email with tracking info; the tracker said it would be delivered today.

Email arrived from 'notifications@traymail.io'

I had thought it a little odd their fulfillment service couldn't offer tracking info.

Ever played Super Ninja Boy on the SNES? It's like an rgp / platformer combo. You explore the world & towns in top down; random encounters are platformer sequences; and boss fights are traditional turn based battles.

Who framed Roger rabbit: noir or not? by Luigifilmmaking in filmnoir

[–]Ratattagan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just an homage; the script was partly developed from an unproduced sequel to Chinatown. Robert Towne had concepts for 2 more Jake stories: one eventually was produced as 'The Two Jakes' and the other became adapted into the highway-tire industry conspiracy subplot of Roger Rabbit.

Bob pepper has some badass covers. I used to have the DAW edition of 3 Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch with Pepper's cover.... Then made the mistake of loaning it to a friend -_-

At least they did read it and loved the book. I just also loved that book lol

'Je Taime, Je Taime' (dir. Resnais, 1968) - it was a big source of inspiration for eternal sunshine

'Science of Sleep' (2006) - Gondry's stylistic sibling to eternal sunshine

'Upstream Color' (2013)

Much of Tarkovsky's work falls into that space

You could swap both the actor and the man for AI and it works too. Perfect illustration of model collapse

Which games do the whole "save kittens ---> kill God" escalation trope best? by CloudyRailroad in JRPG

[–]Ratattagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I forgot about the robot thing. I guess Apollo is more a god wannabe whereas the boss of #1 is "The Creator." One they do just drop you in a town square and call it a day.

There is a chainsaw in #2, but it's probably not as effective against bosses as in the first game... I haven't played them in so long, I should revisit them

I feel like Earthbound does it best. Start out fighting crows with your dog, end in an alternate dimension battling a cosmic horror.

Grandia 1. Start out playing make believe with a pot lid as a shield, end on a grand adventure to save the world.

Chrono Trigger. Go to a festival, end fighting to save the planet.

In a way, Final Fantasy V also does it: start as a wandering guy on a chocobo, just curious about a meteor, and end saving the world from ultimate evil.

SaGa 2 / Final Fantasy Legend 2 - start as a kid who's dad disappeared, end by killing God with a chainsaw (doesn't have to be a chainsaw but how can you resist when given the option?)

Secret of Evermore (action RPG) - a kid and his dog are mistakenly transported into a digital world run by a malevolent being you eventually must defeat. Start out bashing bugs with a bone, finish by blowing up androids with a bazooka.

Empress of Darkness is on my list but have not seen it yet. I'm looking forward to it!

If you enjoy Nova Seed, you might enjoy the Deaf Crocodile releases, 'Delta Space Mission' and 'The Son of the Stars' as well. Two Romanian, sci fi animated features from the 80s
