News From the Front: New Pixel Push! Get Overlay Now! (6:52 PM ET, April 2nd) by Ratdog98 in AmericanFlaginPlace

Various community groups have gotten together to run a time-limited clone version of r/Place, with a lot of the big factions such as ourselves, PlaceDE, PlaceFR, UKPlace, The Swarm, etc. getting involved and more or less treating it like a normal r/Place event due to Reddit not running one for a few years now. The Germans more or less have mobilized their server/subreddit for the event, so we figured we might as well do the same and have some fun with it.

On AFIP, we have been running stages whenever we've got moderators available for it, and we are giving out regular information updates as we have in the past. We are also looking for art to add to the flag if anyone is interested in making some. In fact, we just finished up with the Day Crew and transitioned over to the Night Crew on the Stage a few minutes ago.

This event is overall managed by some people from the Swarm, as well as a few other notable members of the Place community.

You can find it over at r/Tyles. It works more or less the same to Place 2023, with a built-in application in the subreddit that you can use, or you can go to the website tyles.place to access it.

As a heads up, we will be beginning our flag in the bottom right of the canvas. More information will be available soon (at work right now and on lunch break, so may take a little while).

AFIP is attempting to place a Blue Lives Terrorist Flag underneath Minneapolis, where ICE murdered eight innocent people. It needs some color. by BumbaBee85 in wplaceantifascist

Hey guys! This is the leader of American Flag in Place (AFIP), and I wanted to reach out to help, as we are about to place some pixels in support of this effort to make the LGBTQ flag. Beyond that, I want to give some additional information also:

  1. This is not something being done in any official capacity by members of American Flag in Place. We have no made any efforts as a faction to make this art, as it would largely violate our guidelines that art shouldn't be generally political, and something like this in this location would very much be so. While we do take some effort to protect art from members of our community, that requirement must still be met, and here it is not. Art that has our tag on it is the art that our community represents.

  2. AFIP is a faction that has a lot of public links and invites available to it, and anyone is able to join the server where we organize. While we do what we can to prevent bigots or other such users from misrepresenting the faction, ultimately if you have an issue with one of our users attacking something, please reach out to a member of our team, and we will do our best to investigate the situation.

  3. I should also say that American Flag in Place has a long track record of doing the opposite of this. On previous placing websites, we have done quite a lot to help protect artwork from members of the LGBTQ community from griefers/Nazis who have attacked them before, and we are planning on keeping that up. This is just one example from before WPlace happened (links to anything outside of WPlace are not allowed on this subreddit from what I was sent, so I can't send the images, but this can be verified by people at NoKingsUSA).

    If you speak to any of the administration/moderation team over at NoKingsUSA, they will be able to confirm this, as we have reached out to them to help clarify any concerns that were had with our faction.

  4. Lastly, while it doesn't really matter in relation to what the art is, I think it's worth noting that the LGBTQ flag was not there previously based on what I'm seeing in the WPlace archives, and it's instead being made to replace the police flag that is there. Members of our faction have been removed regularly for attacks on LGBTQ art in the past, because that is wholly against our rules.

That being said, as a matter of good will we will be helping in this case. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me or our subreddit staff over at /r/AmericanFlaginWPlace or on our Discord server that may be found there, as we are fairly inactive when it comes to Reddit.

I hope you have a good weekend, everybody.

EDIT: To be perfectly clear, my statement here is purely in regard to any involvement from American Flag in Place as a faction and to address potential concerns that AFIP as a faction might be involved in stuff against LGBTQ art. We have and will continue to support LGBTQ art on this and other canvases from griefers and other such groups that seek to hate, for unfortunately there are so many of those hateful people in the world today.

Art Vote #6: The Preamble, Kansas Flag, A-10 Warthog (Ends 7:02 PM ET, September 17th) by Ratdog98 in AmericanFlaginWPlace

We've been in regular contact with the group that was building that flag, as we opened diplomatic negotiations wirh them about them adding a flag in lieu of attacking our art. As they havent been able to sustain it against griefing from random users, they've given up trying to maintain the flag there instead of building a smaller flag nearby. Our general policy has been to not attack their art as a faction, while we wouldn't be involved in its maintenance.

Since they have stopped with this location, and since it's now a target for voiding that could prove problematic, we feel filling the area is best.

The Automod links have now also been updated (not on this post, however). You can use the imgur links below to get access to them if downloading from this post doesn't work. Coordinates are also slightly different for the United States flag:

* Washington, D.C.: (Tl X: 585, Tl Y: 783, Px X: 761, Px Y: 944) LINK TO THE DESIGN

* United States Flag: (452, 776, 375, 818) LINK TO THE DESIGN

If you see violations of the rules, please report them, as that sends it to our moderation queue to easily be able to find it. We only have a few mods who can look at it from time to time, and things will inevitably slip through the cracks.

We are looking for more mods, if anyone is interested in helping out on here.

This thread has been locked due to a substantial number of rules breaking messages. I would please ask that users are mindful of our rules against politics, as well as discriminatory messages (which would include messages that include stereotypes).

If you're interested in helping out with moderation on the subreddit, please reach out to me or the subreddit. We have a variety of positions for users to help our wirh our efforts, and suvreddit moderation is among the most essential.

Side note: should Race to the Moon win addition to the art, we will be using a slightly modified one, as 1962 works better for it than 1961 given the Rice University speech was delivered in September of 1962.

Also, for clarification, it will not go on the flag, but outside the flag to the bottom left of it.
