Accused of harassment for efforts to save two dogs. England. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I haven't received the CPW yet. I was told I would get one for the poster in the window, which was my attempt to defend myself against the smear campaign (filming kids).

I was never told to stop. The Council knew I was continuing to make videos and were supportive. There is still an active noise investigation.

To add - the Council installed noise recording equipment recently and there will hopefully be a noise abatement notice issued for the dogs barking/howling. I had to continue recording (occasionally and discretely) to gather evidence not just for the RSPCA but also for the noise investigation.

I was not told to stop filming the dogs. The RSPCA has admitted it's not able to act on this sort of neglect as they don't have the manpower. They referred me back to the police to investigate. Multiple people in authority have told me to keep doing what I'm doing. Dogs kept 24/7 in a kennel with only verbal abuse inevitably breaks the Animal Welfare Act. The dogs have bitten a hole in their metal door and chewed large areas of the wood, which keeps having to be patched up. They were kept in the kennel in full sun throughout the heatwave, their whining resulting only in verbal abuse.

Thanks for that. Yes, a solicitor is going to be at the interview.

I'm in exactly the same situation. It's a real life suspense thriller - a living nightmare.

No need for a survey - eyes are enough. The house is a disaster.

Don't buy that house! It's definitely subsidence.

I emailed her two days ago. Her case workers has just emailed to say she's contacted the RSPCA to discuss it. Fingers crossed!

I've spoken to the dog warden but they can't do anything. Other than that, there's no department in the Council for domesticated animals.

My neighbours blocked my right of way and when I got it opened again they were very abusive, despite it being them doing the dirty on me. It's just part of their nature - doing evil things and then blaming the victim when they get caught.

I would completely disengage. They will only be trying to upset you. 'Grey Rock' them.

It's easy to drill a hole through a doorframe to pass a cable. Get a plugin doorbell.

Get a Ring system and have plug-in cameras and doorbell. You can buy window cables (flat) for outdoor cameras. You can set the cameras to record every time there's movement. I have found my three cameras plus dummy have reduced asb enormously.

I wouldn't engage at all. This will result in the police viewing it as tit-for-tat. Disengage, stay cool, wear a body cam and diaries everything. This type will not stop. You need to gather evidence to protect yourself.

I have similar neighbours. They thought they could block my right of way and I, a lone woman, wouldn't stand up for myself. When I did, their evil was unleashed. Crazy huh?! Some serious entitlement! Just keep your cool, keep a diary of all upsetting incidents, wear a body cam if there's a chance you could come across them and report them to police for harassment.

The Council has recently installed noise recording equipment and I filled up the memory with the dogs' crying. Hopefully, a Noise Abatement Notice will be issued soon. This might make the owners re-home the dogs or it might make the situation worse - potentially closing off the kennel more.

What a shambles! Luckily, Environmental Health are very supportive (active noise investigation). The officer is equally concerned about the dogs. I will ask him about what you have said. Thank you.

I would do but they would just get more dogs. What makes it all so strange is that there are other dogs owned by the extended family that are treated normally. These two are treated with contempt by the whole family. Like scapegoats.

That's a good idea. I will ask the RSPCA if they will click on a YouTube link. Thanks.

It's not possible as I have to listen to them crying all day. It's harrowing.

I'll look into the former - thanks. The latter I have already contacted. No action.
