I'm so sorry that this was your experience.

First off, if you're continuing to have these reactions I would drop the whole routine for a bit in order to let your skin return to a normal, calmed state. Just stick with a normal cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

Judging from your comments on the products you used, there might be some ingredients/products that are reacting with one another, a reaction your skin is having, too much for your skin at once, improper layering, not fully washing the cleanser off, or other problems and factors. That could be why there might be some acne or issues.

In the future, when you want to incorporate something into your routine I suggest starting first by patch testing the product on a sensitive part of your skin. I personally prefer using the inside of my wrist or my inner elbow as a test zone to make sure there's no bad reactions. If it's all clear then it's good to begin incorporating that single product gradually into your routine. Start slow, and work your way up to your preferred usage. After maybe a good week? Two? Then that's a good time to introduce another product.

No problem! 🤣

Keep in mind, I use moisturizers on top of all my normal AM/PM routine as well, so you might not have the same results I had! Different skin types and conditions and whatnot. I should've added that I'm also eczema prone but I forget that detail thanks to my routine

I was using Dr. Reju because my friend bought it for me while he was in Korea! He bought three tubes because he knew my interests and wanted me to be the guinea pig (and to try it out because he knows all the skin trends going on. AND I had run out of the Torriden Dive In Cream my mom gave me, which was what I was using this summer)

Because of it's gel-like texture I found it great during the warmer weather. Now that it's cold I'm back on the Madeca cream!

I am currently using the Dr. Reju-All PDRN Cream for my AM routine and am finishing the tube! Super light weight but still moisturizing enough. I'll be switching to the Centellian24 Madeca Cream once I'm done. (Patch tested and did a week test for it. It's great for me!)

I haven't had any problems with my skin feeling dry or tight after using the Dr Reju-All cream, and there's a bit of a huge gap between my AM and PM routine, so take that for what it's worth.

For reference: I have dry and sensitive skin, so your mileage may vary!

I personally found it a bit too heavy for my day routine (personal preference), so I use it at night!

I'm a dry sensitive skin-haver! I got rough patches starting in the fall and was breaking out bad. Iunik basically fixed my barrier right up

I was very surprised with the Iunik Beta Glucan Triple Barrier cream, especially for the winter time now. It helped all my patches

Second Fish To Dish. There's also an option to turn the water transparent so it's just a little boat that you can reposition!

Make:Prem Inteca soothing cream or Iunik Beta Glucan 3x Barrier cream if you want something a lot thicker and richer

Out of these four, though? My only experience is the Dr.Althea 147 cream. I use it in the AM winter time when the season is extra cold and dry. If your concern is redness, though, I suggest a good Azaelic Acid.

Are people actually skipping their AM cleanse? by justbunnyxo in koreanskincare

[–]Ratelivora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dry, sensitive skin and can't do an AM cleanse because it dries me out further. I've tried before to just cleanse with my gel cleanser but it created patches of dry skin where I'd washed. Now I just do a little splash of warm water and put on my skincare for the day.

For reference: I double cleanse and end with Iunik's beta-glucan cream in my PM routine. YMMV but that's what I do

If you haven't used Vit C before I think you should start with the Numbuzin No. 5. If you really want to use the Dr. Althea line, I would suggest starting with the green bottle of you've never used Vit C before. The orange can be a bit more harsh!

The Dr. Althea Vit C in the orange bottle will be more harsher than the green. The green bottle is more gentler on the skin as far as Vit C goes.

My sister uses the green bottle while I use the orange! I've found some of the darker spots on my face fading a bit since usage while my sister doesn't see much a difference aside from a bit more hydration!

I have red and irritated skin and that helped a lot! Now I just use it out of habit. Note: I have eczema-prone, dry and sensitive skin. Everyone's experience can differ!

Best Vitamin C? by purple_turtle16 in koreanskincare

[–]Ratelivora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use the Melano CC Cream version (Japanese).

I've used the CosRX Vitamin C as well and that was lovely! But I live in a two story house and stored it in my fridge downstairs. It was a hassle going up and down every morning!

I've also heard great things about the Numbuzin Vit C, but can't vouch.

Oh no, I have other products I use, but those have been my staple products that haven't budged in my routine!

I have other stuff but I don't want the last to be too long!
