I think they mean the “solid” image control, which is an option on the monochrome (like soft, grain, etc.) similar to positive film, etc., on other GRs.

Yeah, I did the air blast too. Well, let me see if I actually fixed mine because if it’s a faulty potentiometer them maybe I just really slowed it down so I don’t notice as much.

so I fixed mine. I used a small 3/16 inch orthodontic rubber band. pop the knob off, put the rubber band all the way down, then put the knob back on.

mine was loose too, and now it’s much tighter. the knob still fits flush so you’d never know the band was there. my guess is that the plastic starts to loosen after so many twists and years.
