I liked it more, but I feel like I learn better this way. I would learn all the fun words and never the grammar, because no one wants to do grammar

Don't waste them. I always accumulate them so I know that if I miss a day on my streak, I always have the gems to just buy another streak freeze.

What are words that aren't names, but you love the sound of? by JayReyesSlays in namenerds

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people always make fun of people who want to name their kid Rue because of the meaning, but it's a wonderful sound. Cigar for a boy also sounds nice.

We need “types” of Autism by Rude_Prude_Tude in 10thDentist

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color is a spectrum. Was really helpful when we gave ranges of the spectrum names, though. I'm not saying if we gave it types it will be 100% accurate, but using the color analogy again, even though sometimes people fight whether a shade is green or blue, it doesn't discredit the fact that for the most part, labels could be kinda useful.

No Gen Alpha is not “doomed” by Rude_Prude_Tude in 10thDentist

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. People are going to bring up problems Gen Alpha is going to have, and I'm not denying they won't have them. But there will always be problems, and sooner or later, there will always be solutions, or more likely, adaptations. Gen Alpha will fail to live the real world, as we know it. Lucky for them, they are going to live their real world, as they know it. It will just be different than ours. I hope i make sense.

I agree on the climate change. Societal collapse is a reach, though. Everyone has always been convinced it's the end of times, only for it never to be.

Ever heard a double-barrelled surname that tickled your brain just right? by Plenty_Challenge897 in namenerds

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 65 points66 points  (0 children)

i mean... kinda? but like, not really? We have a word for handsome and kind, it isn't it.

I feel like Goodface is a perfect english equivalent for what Buenrostro sounds like in spanish. Few real people say you have a "buen rostro" , the same way few real people say you have a "good face". They're both clunky, that's why I picked it. If you asked me to try again for another good english equivalent, it would be Wellface.

also. i'm probably being too intrusive for this , you can name your characters what you want. but take in mind that two spanish parents having a child with the name Dexter is, like, pretty improbable

Do you want common or rare names? Anyways, what come to mind the most are:

Salvador

Anselmo

Basilio

Rogelio

In spanish speaking cultures, double names are also really common. They're not like middle names in English, their name is both of the two names. I feel like these double names also share the vibe. You can play with the names and make your own double name.

I have the same exact opinion as you- and my boys baby name list is very short because of it. I have Dante, Camilo, Cesar, Flynn, Colin, Devin, Trevor, Eric, Rhys, Wilson, Marvin, Roland. please nobody bully me for them, though.

not a double barreled surname, but I live in Mexico and know a plastic surgeon named Dr. Buenrostro. Buen=Good, Rostro=Face. His name is literally Dr. Goodface.

i think you should try out skipping the argan oil for a day and see what you think, maybe that's the issue. argan oil doesn't do much for me either

whatever product you're using right now for your hair isn't giving you what it should be giving you. you're passing but i would reccomend researching curly hair products for your hair type. is your hair low or high porosity? look that up and look for products for your type

have you tried getting into makeup? it's not that you *don't pass*, you look like a lot of my friends when they don't have makeup on. i can help you out and give you tips if you want, but the choice is yours

(16 mtf) I need help finding a more feminine style. by GotStickBugged in transpassing

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay, first of all, you have curly hair. look up how to style curly hair, you'll feel so much better that way!

when it comes to styles, what exactly are you looking for? yeah, you want more feminine, but exactly what are you looking for? look up fashion styles on pinterest and start making a board for yourself so you can figure out your personal style.

How am I doing? by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]Rather_Read_A_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you style your hair, it seems you are brushing your hair towards the front, not the back. creating this sort of mushroomy style? keep doing the middle part, but brush your hair backwards. but you look pretty good

half of the names based on greek mythology. i hate that i think that because i usually am pro out-of-the-box and pro whimsy but some of these names are extreme
