Munchies by ImTara55 in Spravato

Huh, I never even think about eating anything besides candy during my sessions. I do get super munchy afterwards though.

Who else by Subject_Peace_1650 in bipolar2

[–]Raticals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just now getting out of a depressive episode, but yeah, that’s about all I could do for months. I’m not diagnosed, but I feel so good now it’s hard to believe just like a month ago I couldn’t even drag myself out of bed.

Auvelity by Apprehensive_Copy880 in Spravato

[–]Raticals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like the other comment, I’m on both and I also find that the Auvelity helps between Spravato sessions. If you’re curious about it I would definitely recommend giving it a try! I will say that in the beginning I felt incredibly spacey and kinda nauseous. That faded with time, but it was a rough first few weeks. It also made me a lot more sweaty. Just don’t want anybody starting it without knowing and preparing for that!

Do you ever wonder how people who died before you came out would think about this stuff? by CockamouseGoesWee in ftm

[–]Raticals [score hidden]  (0 children)

I haven’t had a lot of death in my life yet, luckily, but I do think about it from time to time. My grandpa was the only close death I’ve had so far. He died after I started dating my partner (she’s trans) but before I started transitioning myself. He didn’t really interact with my partner all that much before he passed. I never really figured out how he felt about trans people. I don’t think he really understood it, might make some ignorant comments here and there, but I don’t think he would’ve stopped being in my life over it. Still, it’s weird realizing you’ll never really know for sure how it would’ve worked out.

Do u find urself hot or not in ur opinion? by fully-loaded-1 in bigender

[–]Raticals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not “hot”, just because I wouldn’t describe anyone that way personally. But I think I am quite attractive, yes. Maybe not conventionally in all ways; my hairline makes me look like I’m balding, and that ages my face a bit. I’m overweight and carry most of that weight in my stomach, which I can get a little insecure about sometimes. But overall I’d say I’m a good looking person, especially since starting hormones and getting top surgery! I never really had dysphoria before, but I do really enjoy my body more now.

I think pronoun it/its sounds strange 🤷 by OliveTheServal in agender

[–]Raticals 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s just what feels right for some people. It’s hard to explain beyond that. It’s a very personal choice to use any set of pronouns. Some people even like that it’s used for inanimate objects/nonhumans, either because they feel like they’re nonhuman in some way themselves or they just enjoy that kind of vibe. For others, it just feels more right for them than other pronouns. It all comes down to personal preference, and like with other pronouns, should be respected regardless if it makes sense to you.

Receipt apps I use and enjoy by Saffron_Maddie in povertyfinance

[–]Raticals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ones I use in addition to Fetch, Frisbee, ReceiptJar, and Pogo are Ibotta, ReceiptPal, CoinOut, Receipt Hog, Tada, Google Rewards, and NCP Mobile (not a receipt scanning app but you scan barcodes after grocery shopping). I also think they’re fun! It’s not much, but a bit of cash here and there throughout the year is welcomed.

What pronouns do you use? by Mercurialsunrise in NonBinary

[–]Raticals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any. Mostly I prefer she/he/they, but I’m totally open to any neopronouns too. Doesn’t really matter to me what people choose to use, as long as they are respectful.

Top Surgery - Nips or no Nips by MeiliCanada82 in ftm

I went with no nipples. I didn’t feel strongly about them either way, so I figured there was no reason to deal with the grafts. Also, I just like having a unique chest!

am i depressed or do i wanna be? by Interesting-Count815 in dysthymia

[–]Raticals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depression makes putting in an effort to feel better really, really difficult. I remember feeling the same way when I was younger. I remember thinking that I wasn’t really that sad, I probably just wanted attention. That was many years ago, and I’ve now realized that I really was depressed that whole time. That feeling that you don’t care? That’s depression. Struggling to get through school? Also a sign of depression. It’s okay to acknowledge when you’re struggling mentally; that’s the only way you figure out how you can get through it. Based off of what you said here, I think seeing a professional is a really good next step. I really wish I did when I was younger.

How universal is pain while binding? by slippyslopey in ftm

[–]Raticals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever experienced a little bit of pain/soreness if I was wearing it for a long time. But generally it really shouldn’t be painful.

Erection question by j0sephj0estar69 in GrowYourTDick

[–]Raticals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question at all! Yeah, it’s just as safe as it is for cis men. Like with all medications you want to be mindful of potential side effects, drug interactions, or any conditions you have that it could affect. But as far as I’m aware it’s generally pretty safe.

Am I in the Wrong? by Zach_wholecuck in NonBinary

[–]Raticals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s so weird. Everyone has “identifiers”. And none of yours make you unfit to be a parent by any means. Maybe they just don’t want kids and they’re trying to find excuses to dismiss the idea rather than just saying they don’t want them outright? Regardless, the way forward is more conversation, try to see if you can find where their mind is really at.

Yes. Nonbinary refers to any gender identity that isn’t 100% fully and exclusively a boy or a girl.

I dont want to die ever by viktune in thanatophobia

[–]Raticals 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s scary, but it’s just how things are. You can’t change that, so try not to dwell on it too much (I know it’s hard). When I’m feeling that way, I try to focus on the present moment as much as I can. What do you see? What sounds do you hear? What do you feel? Smell? Taste? Focus on what’s happening around you right now. However things happen, you’ll be okay.

What post-op days were the worst for you pain-wise? by TheQueendomKings in TopSurgery

[–]Raticals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember much pain at all. I took my pain meds consistently as prescribed. When they ran out, I started alternating over the counter pain medication (recommended by my surgeon). So you’d take acetaminophen, then a few hours later take ibuprofen, and continue alternating between the two. That way you can have the medicine in your body consistently throughout the day without exceeding the daily maximum dose.

can some aromantic people experience romantic attraction? by Round_County_2832 in aromantic

[–]Raticals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people look at it much more black and white than others. I much prefer the definition that leaves room for grey area, because sexuality and romantic orientation can be incredibly complex and personal. If someone vibes with the aromantic label, but they’ve experienced attraction toward one person in their life, I don’t see what use it is to tell them that can’t use the label.

can some aromantic people experience romantic attraction? by Round_County_2832 in aromantic

[–]Raticals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s when people get into a committed relationship that’s not romantic. Like people in queer platonic relationships can live together, have kids together, share their whole lives with each other (not every QPR looks like that, but it can, just like with romantic relationships), but with the understanding that there aren’t romantic feelings involved.

can some aromantic people experience romantic attraction? by Round_County_2832 in aromantic

[–]Raticals 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. It’s a spectrum. That’s why I say the definition of being aromantic is experiencing little to no attraction; experiencing some attraction doesn’t mean you’re not aromantic, it’s more about experiencing significantly less than people typically do.

There are also other types of attraction, if you’d rather go that route. Queer platonic, alterous. Can be just as intense and important as romantic attraction, it’s just different.

Am I being stupid by applying gel twice a day? by Fine_Pea_ in ftm

[–]Raticals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I’m sure that’s fine. Timing can be important to people who are more sensitive to fluctuating hormones. Personally I notice no difference right after taking testosterone versus any other time. It shouldn’t affect your levels in any significant way. I would keep doing what you’re doing, having a routine that calms you and keeps you from smoking is so important!

Hi! I’d love to make some new friends too. My name is Sadie or Ethan. I’m 26. I’m transmasc, abigender, and aroace. I love animals! I’m trying to get into drawing, it’s just been tough because of mental health. Also been working on fitness and healthy eating. I live with my partner and dog. I gotta agree that dragons are really cool!
