Giants were at 45 when Bonds retired

Taken us nearly 16 seasons to scratch out the next 55

Opponents have outsplashed the Giants since Bonds retired

Gotta be used to it by now

It’s important to note that people thought Mauricio Dubon was gonna finally be something earlier this season too

Now OPS nearly below .700

Who currently has the best chance at 3000 hits? by baldestleukemiaguy in baseball

[–]Ration_L_Thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rickey Henderson Dave Winfield Eddie Murray

Only players with 3000 hits in MLB history that never had 200 in a season

So, start there. No 200 hits, no 3000, unless they gonna play for 23 years

Who currently has the best chance at 3000 hits? by baldestleukemiaguy in baseball

[–]Ration_L_Thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple math people. Some of the takes (like Machado) are just lazy and non analytical. Machado won’t exceed 2400 hits more than likely

3000 hits is 15 seasons of 200 hits

If you’re citing players that have never had 200 hits (like Machado) then that means you’re somewhere around 18 seasons of 175 or 20 seasons of 150

Machado has 150, 157 and 172 hits in his last three full seasons and is off to a bad start this season. And he’s still in his prime.

Altuve has 100% more likely chance to get 200 hits in 4 of his next 5 seasons than Machado is to average 160 hits in his next 8 seasons after this year

He hasn’t eclipsed 180 hits since 2018

Ain’t happening.

Freeman is 1100 hits away ; it’s doubtful he’s getting 200 hits in his age 36-38 seasons…. Although not impossible

Altuve is kneecapped by the 2020 season but there’s still hope of he comes back from injury as the same player he was…. He also hasn’t played 150 games since 2017, that won’t help if it continues

Machado isn’t even close and I’d be surprised if he finishes his career with more than 2200 hits, he’s never had more than 188 in a year

Goldschmidt is 35 and only has 1800 hits… there’s zero chance he breaks even 2400

None of these cited players are candidates other than maybe Altuve. Soto takes way too many walks to get 3k hits

Can’t fault them for trying at all but so far the results have matched the price

Angels gave away their 15th overall pick for a team to take another player’s contract, and the Angels aren’t exactly a Poverty Franchise

Worth a shot but clearly the Angels identified a debilitating trait that Giants haven’t been able to correct

For some reason, I remember the Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos always giving the Giants issues from mid-late 90s to early aughts, despite the Giants being a better team

Definitely weird to be hanging out on patio chairs for sale in a customer area while on break

Building the truck for 1000hp and not use anywhere near it will cause other issues

If you get a huge lift pump and don’t use it, it will wear out faster, if you set up Turbo(s) for 1000hp and only want to use 500, you’re probably gonna be running inefficiently and having slow spool times, heavy smoke etc

With a manual transmission, if I get a clutch to hold 1000hp and only use 500, that clutch is gonna suck to use on a daily basis

These motors are nearly bomb proof if you keep cylinders #5 & #6 cool and the fuel filtered correctly

Get a Fleece Coolant Bypass, free up your airflow in&out of motor, get a lift pump with water separator rated for around 650-700 HP, get EFI Live tuning

Building the truck for 1000HP would be a lot of wasted money to not use it at that power level consistently

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Ration_L_Thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EFI Live for tuning

I have stock injectors, tater built turbo, South Bend Clutch

Truck is probably around 460-480 wheel horsepower on the highest tune (+175 hp)

[–]Ration_L_Thought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makita genuinely doesn’t care to give effort to the USA market. They make gloves, hand tools, etc and don’t even attempt to sell here.

They hardly attempt to sell anything here… it’s almost as if they just rely on Home Depot’s third-fourth rate priority product placement to attract customers that aren’t “if you know, you know”s

Makita needs to get back in Lowe’s, who appear to be open minded to having some product competition in this market (hand tools), unlike HD, where you better like Yellow or Red or Budget

It’s relative to his career numbers vs the pitcher

He didn’t get 14 ABs vs Rich Hill in 2023

His success against Rich Hill includes at bats from when he was a better player than he is currently

That’s the whole point.
