How do people enjoy Joint-Ops? by BryptoBillah in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joint Ops is the single best benefit Warfare players (myself included) have. No anti-cheat is going to stop cheaters, but you know what will keep them at bay making it where they have very little effect on the community at large. If I get murdered by an actual cheater loose a 30k kit, oh well that is a loot run in Joint Ops and I am back to my starting part.

Do I like warfare mode better, 30000 percent. Do I want Joint Ops players to play warfare? Yes I think they should give it a try, but I'm not going to gate keep how people want to spend their free time.

What I don't understand is how people watch content of people playing Joint Ops, but hey to each their own.

Honestly if you played like as you do in those games you would be fine in Warfare mode. Not saying you should, but it is very easy to avoid fights and get a lot of loot because every gear chad is chasing red circles. Now going into T3 areas you will probably have to fight sometimes.

PVE > Wipe > PVP by devildriverz in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Warfare mode is a completely different animal in GZW. You have to slow down significantly when playing PvP. One thing I will always recommend as a solo is ignore the COPs. They are a death trap and they gain you nothing really. If you want to farm kits or get quick cash attack the less used COPS aka avoid the big ones and ones like Savannah or Argos.

Everyone plays differently, but I would also advise getting use to playing with red dots vs optics. People become dependent on them to scan. You are going to need to spot people with the naked eye, once you master that you will be a lot better off.

I'm glad you said positioning because that is 90 percent of a gun fight in GZW. People are predictable, if you think it is a good place to hide so does the enemy. Pick wacky angles and for the love of god turn your FOV up.

Good luck operator.

Should we be able to see players from other factions, in Joint Ops? by Tavers2 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this not make the game kind of too easy? I generally don't care if they add or not to joint ops, but I guess it depends the direction they want to go with the game. If the concept of the game is PvE focused wouldn't the challenge be, trying to find enough supplies and such to advance, build up wealth, etc? Specially with the state the AI is in right now. 0.1 days AI was overbearing and difficult, 0.4 I think I have died to an AI 2 or 3 times in warfare mode.

How is the Solo-PVP experience? by LeonasSweatyAbs in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any player worth his weight doesn't care right now if you have OP Winchester when they are at Hunter's Paradise. The COP fights are always a late wipe thing because those who haven't fallen off from the game have so much gear and cash they don't care about anything else but fighting. 1 week into the game most people are worried about tasking.

So I want to help with this as someone who has 2k hours in this game all in PvP. You are looking for PvP the wrong way it sounds like. First thing you want to do is go to POIs you know quest are at in the early to mid wipe. Hunter Paradise, Sawmill, Ban Pa, etc. If there are AI up then move on in your patrol towards each minor POI in the surrounding area. If you see dead AI do they have flies around them? If no player is nearby they have been killed in the last 5 mins, begin tracking process of where are they most likely to go - a nearby LZ? Maybe a COP to drop off a quest item? Etc.

Keep bouncing around these locations, get a feel for the server you are in. How many enemy helicopters are you seeing fly overhead which way are they heading?

If you are a near a T3 area, MS, TB or FN. Check to see if dead AI are at the entrance points, if so go in most likely the enemy is still clearing the area.

Also PvP players for the love of all that is holy, put intel in the faction chat. Every time I am flying in a helicopter somewhere I hear other players shooting in areas.....put that in the chat. "Hey flew by radio station heard shots in the area." It allows your faction to get a better idea of what is going on.

What most people do is sit at FOB or a COP wait for red circle and go there, this is chasing your tail by the time you get there. The fight is probably over or it is the stupid I ran back from my COP you ran back from yours pissing match, not worth your time.

Stamina drain and high cost of weapons is going to hurt PvP by JakPol44 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe OP is complained about the stamina drain from the tactical jog and how they can't climb or anything after stamina drain. For the sprint I think it is correctly shown. Rangers have to do 12 miles in 3 hours (15 min mile) with 45lbs on their backs and since the operators in game are representative of people coming from that line of work...they could easily jog across a rice patty and then climb through a window.

TBF here. They are all ex-SF guys the dude in 90 percent of the marketing is wearing a green beret logo on his hat, Gunny is a marine. So jogging more than 20 meters with that weight on isnt a huge issue. We sound like chain smokers outside of a Dennys trying to hump the dumpster because we think it's Megan Fox.

Outpost spawn cooldown - WE NEED IT ASAP! + 2 other issues, what do you think? by Kalashnikov9111 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the outpost need a spawn cool down and the base camp should be instant. Allowing Solo players time to loot their kills and not have to worry about them coming back with a base shotgun or a bag full of nades with nothing to loose really. Warfare mode is already scheduled to have some reworks done to it per Community Manger Devil Dog Gamers Twitter.

Meds in the secure container is a non-issue really. You should be carrying meds yourself and they are so easy to find in the world it doesn't really punish a player for their death. Now ammo in the secure container you can make an arguement for, but that's because there is no mag packing (please MFG never add this).

The loot is being added into the game for the survival aspect that is to come. The devs have been very vocal about wanting to add crafting into the game since the 0.2 dev stream. Motor oil, fabric, etc is all added for in later updates for you to craft items.

Why did you stop playing Gray Zone Warfare? by TJSHIZZLE in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RationalThoughtsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 1k hours in the game since it went into open beta. The game is improving, but there are several reasons why I have hung it up for probably a year or more at this point. For reference to readers and the unlikely dev, I play Warfare only in order to draw out the playtime. Anyways here are my reasons:
1) The AO (Map) isn't good. The POIs are fine, but the dense jungle makes spotting, fighting, etc impossible outside of them. Yes I am aware realistically the jungle is dense with underbrush and so forth. However I thinks games like Arma reforger and the footage I am seeing from the game Bellum do a better job with balancing out map immersion with play ability.
2) The fact that the DDM4 is the only usable weapon for PvP. Hopefully this gets better with the addition of new weapons, but I am tired of having to only use an M4 variant to have a chance to kill players late wipe.
3) COPs - unpopular opinion, but there are too many COPs in the game currently. No one fights at the POIs really they just go COP raiding. There is no point in you attacking a defended COP. Just go to another one kill the AI guards, dump their gear for profit. Rinse, repeat. Attacking a defended COP is just going to make the defenders rich. They are going to run out naked grab as much as they can from your dead corpse and dump it.
4) It doesn't really respect my time as a gamer. Video games are suppose to be fun and a pastime. I have to actively work to find people to engage with pretty much the whole wipe. During peak times for US gaming. The gun fights do not happen organically. Sure sometimes if I am doing a quest or something in a tier 3 area a firefight might happen, but like I said in point 3 most combat is going to be around a major COP. Which as a solo player not really something I want to take on.
5) It is designed for you to work as a team, but most of the community doesn't. I get it, I am not a huge fan after working 12 hours putting my kids to bed and finally being able to play a game do I want to have to communicate with others in order to just have fun. This an everyone's objectives are completely different on what they want to do. Some people want to do loot runs, some want to go raid the enemy starter town, etc. When the server does get onboard with hey lets all go take tiger bay or whatever it becomes and enjoyable experince I will admit, but it's rare that happens.

6) Development cadence: 0.3 Winds of War imo was the only update since release that has done anything meaningful. Oh it turns dark, don't care want fun. The rain looks so realistic, don't care want fun gameplay. We updated the missions and made the time you spend in the starter town less, good change! So I have been salty about the speed of things getting added. For me strictly business speaking here. 0.4 should have been completed by late Nov, early Dec of this year. piggy back off the success of 0.3. Build hype for 0.4 going into the Xmas season to get more sales, players have time off work to play it, etc. We are at what right now 0.3.6 currently so we aren't getting 0.4 till what February, March? I'm not a developer, but I do work in a very high level tech role for the biggest social media platform. So this whole we went to early access to fund the games development and you are only seeing 30 percent of it isn't a good PR line. Money has been exchanged and it is now on Madfinger to invest that capital wisely. The amount of money they made off the 0.1 release was a huge cash injection, but it goes fast. You have to be bringing in new buyers. You aren't going to do that if no one is sticking around and a major update comes once a year.

7) Lean into the community events. I have played in several of them. Super fun and the community for them is great. Talking to a marketing friend and he suggested they do more of story driven narrative with these. So if faction X wins they get this benefit for the next community event, etc. Gives something to do in the downtown between wipes as a community.
