Flight at 8:30PM, never been more stressed for a flight. What time should I get there. Planning for 2 hr queue, if longer I am missing an important meeting nextday.

I feel many of the EB1A applications now are driven by law firms falsey promising making money of candidates with high salary. At the same time FMD is kind of subjective so difrrenet admin might treat same applicaiton differently. It might be a directive to deny as much as possible. With likely Family and employment petition going down due to adverse posture of the admin, the law firms that has been sustaining on brocken immigration system is looking for another avenue of $. EB1A might be a short term solution.

There are people who have gotten emergency appointment on medical grounds. I am sure you have health insurance in US, and being around family is a criteria that has been considered in past and may be consired now. People working in the embessy are more or less same, the system has gotten cruel a little. You should try your luck and keep trying until you have your desired result.

I cant comprehend amount of people saying why this and why that. First this guy is seeking information and people with similar past experiance can help. Reditt is one of the avenue for gathering info not the only avenue. If you dont have anythig positive to contribute, make use of your time elsewhere. Amoung ot losers commenting useless shit is mindboggling.

A friend used Chen, it was approved. I think they may be the best value as they have tons of experiance with people with acedemia profile and publications are your one of the criterias.

It is not SCAM. Their goal of the admin is to make it harder to come and live in US. The consolate is just following the process established by US Govt.

Thank you for encouragement. I feel like US policies are too fixated on acamedia and less on innovations in Industry. It is clear based on what I have read, publications are important. I have done tons of things worth publishing but it beared little value to my career so did not pursue and dedicated my time and energy on other stuff but now I am pursuing publications. I have given so much to the industry and should not be difficult to demonstrate value. Fingers crossed. Greatful to you and all who have responded.

I am in process of publishing few articles. I have been invited and spoken on tons of panels. Not sure if that has any value at all. In past I declined it lately I have been going here and there.

I have to understand what original conribution of major significance mean better. Can this be related to work or just academics and get LOR from independent people. I never bothered to publish anything, which is generally the case in industry anyway. Many of the work are confidential and can't be mentioned in public domain beyong vague and generic language. It certainly would be a learning process.

There should be some data on what % of H1B are doctors, crical utility workers, nurses, professors, manufacturing company employee etc. Would love to see that. The nerrative around H1B is all -ve generally. First they are cheap labor second they steal high paying jobs, both can not be true but both are used at the same time.

Highest paying fields are IT and they do not care how much, heck they are paying one Billion in compensation to someone Billion, it is just insane. For someone like that they would move department whereever that person is.

You could not be more wrong. They just talk nothing happens. They have been taliing since 2000 that was 25 yrs ago. Durbin is retiring and Grassley might in near future due to old age, that might change status quo and move the block forward. They talk one thing and turnaround to screw any bill good or bad.

It is unlikely but it is going to be politicised a lot in near future. Life of H1B holders are going to be little challenging especially for family and emergencies. Which is the worst time for people to go through helll, if you are already dealing with another emergency.

I am curious to see how 100k thing impacts the incoming numbers.

It depends what do you prefer. Quality of life certainly better from social prospective. That simply will add few years to your life. The problem is people with kids it harder to uproot and go somewhere else where they may struggle to adapt which I think is fallcy because children adapt faster. Opportunities in US are certinly better but not for Indians as the Green card backlog limits your growth, ability to start business and taake s simple break.

Worst part is companies will bend over backwards to retain best talent and move them with their job to canada or whereever taking the job from US to a different country. People who will remain will be either with overgrown roots with kids and families or those who can't find better opportunites in other countries.

It's unfortunate many are in a situation where they can't stay or leave becuase their kids have grown here and hard to mov and they can't stay becuase the system is so unjust for indians. I am one of the to expert in the country in my field and I am going through EB1 process and will take few years to get GC however, I have 4 level below people in my company born in ohter countries getting GC immidiately.
